Congrats to Mr. Mangini on his Hobby accomplishment! Great tips for new collectors! My advice for the next generation is to get involved in sports. Pick a team or player that inspires you. Whether it's a hometown team or a favorite athlete. Cards & memorabilia should be secondary. Find your FANDOM! Thanks for sharing, Orlando ❤

Gave a video like. Great advice to parents, Orlando. Great way to learn and enjoy the hobby is looking through dollar boxes.

Great suggestions, Orlando. I think collectors will be in the hobby longer term than the gamblers. Much better for the hobby overall.

Absolutely agree! We have done both, opening boxes and just going through boxes! We have more fun going through boxes than building a set.

In order to get more kids or more people into the hobby, especially as collectors, they need to be actual fans and have love for the sport they collect. If you have no emotional attachment to the players or sport you're certainly not going to have that emotional attachment to the cards. Nice video Orlando.

This is great advice to anyone, not just kids. I very rarely buy hobby box and just buy cards I want. Take your kid to a game when his favorite player plays. Easier to do in baseball.

Great video! Great message. I had all but two of those Griffey’s before I sold them all. Collecting used to be fun. Now it’s a joke.

Parents…these days. 😂 whatever you want, Honey. Instant gratification as a kid, is long term harmful. The parents short term gain, in exchange for not having to say “No” to your offspring, will likely lead to a child who grows up indoctrinated in “Stuff” makes you happy…and they’ll be working overtime to make ends meet, because they’re not happy with patience and they want to buy the fancy, useless crap that is being advertised to us all. Inner peace, and actually understanding how and why you feel the way you do, is worth more $ than you’re likely to earn in a lifetime. Sports gambling’s explosion is further proof of the power of advertising and emptiness and corporations realizing that all they need to do is trigger a dopamine squirt in a consumer’s brain to get them hooked. 😢 Education and curiosity rule! ❤
