Great filler! I like the Christmas and doll kits. Myf avorite are the doll kits and that you added an additional outfit. The Lego sets are great. Thanks for sharing affordable filler.

I'm from the UK, England, and I don't understand. What is a filler kit? Is this for next Christmas?

Filler kits are to help the half-filled shoeboxes that sometimes come in for Operation Christmas Child, or the shoeboxes that had to have an inappropriate item removed. They will be for the 2025 packing season later this year 🙂

I was surprised to see make up was a yes. I've never seen anyone pack make up. I think a few of the lip balms I picked up for next year are medicated, I guess I'll have to skip those. I was thinking of just putting lip balm in the mid and older kid boxes. I remember eating some cherry chapstick when I was little! I wonder if words are okay in coloring books or game instructions in those countries you mentioned.

I’ve seen makeup packed by a few, but not too many. Yeah I would keep the lip balms to the older kids 😆 Hmmm that’s a good thought. I wonder if those would be acceptable too, or even graphics on tshirts.

I love the size of those tambourines! I had the idea to get mini battery operated Christmas lights for next years boxes but when I went back for clearance they were all out. Next year I won't wait.

I'm not totally sure what you mean by 'in kind' donations. It would be cool if they set up a sewing room for volunteers to make filler items. I'm going to sew some hats and scrunchies this year but it would be fun if you live near a processing center to do it with others for the fellowship.

That’s how they refer to it, since they’re not a monetary gifts. It just means specific items that are donated. Oh that would be cool! I was wondering how they’d go about the sewing projects if sewing machines and sergers were donated. Love the ones you’re wanting to make!

I like your video it's really cool I really like the Lego kits 😁 I don't know if they have any in Canada but I've seen some Hot Wheels that have Lego cars made out of bricks and they work with the LEGO brand great don't know if they work with the Dollar store lego i might buy a package and see thanks for the video ❤

Yes I’ve seen those and picked them up in the past! They do work with the Dollar Store bricks, but I’m not sure if the mini figures will fit in them. That would be great to make some kits using those!

Dollar store items are such poor quality. I'd rather do one box with quality items than do 10 boxes with items that will break in a week.

While it’s true that there are some low quality items in dollar stores (especially the party, goodie bag items), there are actually some good quality items that can be found! I wouldn’t suggest these filler packs if I hadn’t already tested the quality of these items 🙃

I like sending these dolls too. Sometimes the hair actually comes off so I’m thinking of maybe gluing the hair on…anyone else had this happen with these little dolls?

Actually I’ve seen some of the other post that there’s now wig sets for these dolls! I just haven’t seen them in my DT stores here in Canada yet. If multiple dolls are included the child can also swap their hair around too

They are supposed to come off and are interchangeable. 😊 You can also buy a pack of the wigs.

While that is a concern, with the size of the blocks, hardness of the wood and even the taste of the paint I doubt it would be a prolonged issue. Most children I’ve been around in this age range have also reduced exploring with their mouths.

While that is true, I did allow the blocks a lot of ventilation time with fresh so that the fumes can dissipate prior to packing in the boxes. Once the paint cures it actually becomes very safe to handle.

This is a fantastic organization ❤. Just wondering if you have to be religious to participate. I'm a professional violinist and am often at church, but only to "make a joyful noise...". I am agnostic and have no interest in becoming religiously affiliated. I live in Toronto and would love to help, but not if I must attend a church.

@Kit.Nicole Cool! I love making loot bags. I have 5 kids! And adding practical stuff while trying to play Tetris & fit as much in as possible sounds like a really fun and extremely worthwhile project. I watched some videos of kids in Mexico, a country I've been to many times & absolutely love 💕.

@@Kit.Nicole Hi Nicole, I think the hair tie kits with the larger scrunchie are a great filler. The scrunchie will add a nice soft touch to a shoebox. I pack similar sized hair accessory packs for all my girls. Each of these are coordinated with their main item of clothing (e.g., t-shirt). A comb or mirror -brush may be packed seperately. Depending on budget, novelty /fun hair clips and/or a compact mirror are also good inclusions.

Since you were doing the dolls as filler only, ,why not tape the doll package and extra clothes package together . It would definitely save time and take up alittle more room in the box. I did hear you say the clothes might accidentally get torn. Either way works and your way looks good.

That is true, but then there’s also the issue of sending “waste,” as some of the places these go to don’t have recycling programs. It was the individual doll clothes (without the accessories) that are at a higher risk of being torn, due to one of the plastic ties on the inside keeping it in place. The ones I showed here would be safe for your taping idea

This is an incredible haul! The boxes from the restore are amazing! Those pencils are adorable! You got some great stuff at Dollartree and Dollarama! I’m impressed!!! I think it’s so interesting to see what different things are available at the different locations! Love this haul!!!

I'm glad you had a great experience at the PC in Calgary! So funny you mentioned your dry mouth because it was the same with me lol my lips were hurting so bad! I scooped a bunch of candy out of one shoebox...like a lot! I'm sure the people that gave it had no idea and meant well. Yes, there were a lot of shoeboxes with used items. You could tell a mom likely went around her house and threw toys that her kids no longer wanted inside. 😐 I had a lot of similar experiences that you did. Thanks so much for sharing this all with us.💗
