From a secular home but age 19 was drawn back. Because of the extreme rules of acceptance, I haven't been allowed to return. Don't know about those who refuse to return for whatever reasons, but those of us who want to return shouldn't be rejected repeatedly or misjudged by another. I asked a local rabbi this same question and got no answer. If every Jew's name is written in the Torah his soul already knows what needs to be done.
