Sensible decision taking into account his past head knocks.

My opinion the captain should be one of the top 2 or 3 players in the team if he's not the team always starts on the back foot. Sam Cane is a good player but will never be remembered as one of the greats

Really nice selection, only players I would switch in would be Ofa Tuungafasi, Celeb Delany and Stephen Perofeta for George Dyer, Naitoa Ah Kuoi and Brett Cameron. Besides that great selection of players, like the balance in your squad 👍

Flyhalf has to have someone with a good goal kicking boot and vision. Just can't see Gordon leading well yet.

Centres severely lacking. Reiko is no centre and Jordy isn’t affective at 2nd. We need natural centres who can bend that advantage line and set up our outsides. To say Reiko hasn’t had the best season is an understatement he has been practically ineffective since his 13 switch and shouldn’t be picked there.
@fabianelliott9616 күн бұрын
Not the best lineup in my opinion, mainly back line
@rugbyitch16 күн бұрын
Fair enough, which players would you selected instead ? Always keen to know 👍
@fabianelliott9616 күн бұрын
I think dougunu shouldn't make the squad, someone like foketi, perese, or even someone new like tamati tui has him covered imo. Donaldson out, lygner in, I think he's shown to have grit in tough games. The wingers and fullbacks, Tom Wright is straight in, Kellaway in, toole in, and vunivalu in (he's become so consistent, just needs to work on not getting exposed out of position). And I love koroibete and Kerevi but I don't know if they are the ones we need at this point... obviously they are an asset to any team, but we have such awesome players to choose from Rn. I agree with ya forwards, who were u picking as captain?
@rugbyitch16 күн бұрын
@@fabianelliott96 Didn't consider Perese as he off to Leicester Tigers next season but besides that like all your other selections and definitely see your point with Koroibete and Kerevi. In terms of my captain, its a hard choice as there isn't a lot of experience from the players I have picked with leadership qualities, however if I had to choose right now I would probably do a co-captiancy of Skelton and McDermott. Again my opinion of this can change after SRP ends.

Is Alex Hodgeman legible for wallabies?...it wud be great if he is.
@rugbyitch16 күн бұрын
Yes as he hasn't played international rugby for three years and his father was born in Melbourne, so definitely available for selection and with Angus Bell out for the rest of the SRP season it helps his chances. I didn't pick him but would not be surprised if Schmidt considers him.
@Shizzle68516 күн бұрын
Wallabies need to select for the future and RWC. Schmidt will a choose new look Wallabies which will surprise many when he selects his initial squad end of next month.

Disagree with a couple of these statements made here mate. Firstly Asafo Amua has been miles better than any other hooker, secondly Stevenson is not better than Love. That being said, predicting a 36 man squad will be named, this is how I see it playing out. Hookers Codie Taylor Samisoni Taukei'aho Asafo Amua Props Ethan De Groot Tyrel Lomax Tamati Williams Ofa Tu'ungafasi Xavier Numia Locks Scott Barret Josh Lord Tupou Vaa'i Patrick Tuipulotu Loose Forwards Ardie Savea Dalton Papali'i Hoskins Sotutu Samipini Finau Brayden Iose Ethan Blackadder Luke Jacobson Scrumhalf's TJ Perenara Finlay Christie Folau Fakatava Flyhalves Damian Mckenzie Beauden Barret Brett Cameron Centres Jordie Barret Rieko Ioane Billy Proctor ( Remember who is picking the centers ) Anton Lienert Brown Quinn Tupaea Outside Backs Mark Telea Sevu Reece Ruben Love Shaun Stevenson Caleb Clarke Emoni Narawa That out the way, here is my team for the first test 1. De Groot 2. Taylor 3. Lomax 4. Barret 5. Vaa'i 6. Blackadder 7. Savea 8. Sotutu 9. Perenara 10. Mckenzie 11. Telea 12. Barret 13. Ioane 14. Reece 15. Barret 16. Taukei'aho 17. Williams 18. Tu'ungafasi 19. Tuipulotu 20. Jacobson 21. Christie 22. Proctor 23. Love

Sorry for not being clear, Asafo Aumua has 100% the best hooker in super rugby this season, just wanted to mention Matt Faessler from Australian perspective as well. Also unfortunate that Asafo is now out for 6-8 weeks with a MCL tear, should hopefully be ready in time for the 1st test aganist England. Also liked your 36 man squad and starting XV 👍

I seriously hope that Robertson does NOT include overseas players - this is a perfect opportunity to build HIS team of what is leftover and what is IN New Zealand!!!! Time for Cane to GO!!!! He is one of the most over-rated 7s I have seen and it was ridiculous to play the best 7 in the world at 8!!!! If Savea wants to play for the ABs then play his rugby in NZ - same with Beauden Barrett! Its time to look at the future 7s - Kirifi Du Plesis and Tom Christie - the reason why Casper Papali'i is having a poor season is because he is over-rated! If I was Robertson I would NOT mess around with England and take stock with what is left over from the Foster team, play the experience and add to that!!!! It would be a serious mistake if Robertson wanted to scrape that team and start afresh! Robertson NEEDS to win against England! Robertson still has the following: De Groot, Lomax, Williams, Newell, Bower Taukeiaho, Aumua and Taylor Barrett, Tuipuotu, Va'ai, Lord Jacobsen, Blackadder, Finau, Sotutu and Ioane Roigard, Perenara, Christie, Fakatava MacKenzie, Perfetora Barrett, Havili, Tupeia, MacLoud Ioane, Leniert-Brown Clarke, Telea, Narawa, Stevenson, Reece Jordan, That is 17 forwards and 18 backs who are already All Blacks - strong base for Robertson to start from! TO that I would add the following: tighthead prop mid lineout lock Christie, Du Plesis and Grace Moreby Love

There's a new kid on the block ,perhaps in the style of Sonny Bill Williams, he's leaving NRL at the end of the year to play rugby in Japan, Joey Manu, a Maori player, plays for Roosters at the moment, a great gamebreaker ,plays anywhere in the backline ,great fend ,strong runner ,offloads easily ,built similar to Sonny Bill ,inside centre would be his for the taking ,hope the coach is watching ,he'd be ready for the world cup in a year or so

I reckon RAZR will pick a bolter lock and not Paddy T, not sure about Delaney yet and I am a Canes man. I want to like Fakatava but he goes missing during games. Ratima, Love and Narawa for sure, we need pace and aggression in the mid and outside channels. As for the loosie mix, Iose for sure, he is the next Ardie, could be better than AS over time.
