I just want to draw cool action poses, every day I'm practicing gesture drawing for 30 min and torso with boxes for another 30 min every day I question myself if this is going to get me there

I see AI like throwing paint on a canvas and then making an image from the abstract images you see in the paint. Sure, like anything if it gets misused and abused it can, and will destroy. Like a pen, I can use it for what it is for, or abused from it by throwing it at someones face.

Hi Noah, how do you prepare the linen? looks raw , without any primer.

It's pre-primed with some sort of clear primer. So yeah, you get the raw look still but it's definitely primed.

I am gradually progressing towards larger artwork. So far, I've been successful with pieces up to about 12x12 inches. However, when I try to go beyond that size, I find it more challenging to achieve the desired outcome. I'm confident it will happen because there was a time when my ideal size was 6x8 inches.
@TeamBradley6 ай бұрын
You can do it! I find that once you're able to handle something like 16x20, then you can suddenly go quite a lot bigger and still be comfortable. That seems to be around the size where oils have a certain feel, and it's all very adaptable after that.

So hard to rush these things-so much to accomplish and so much ground to cover. Feels daunting if you think about the whole thing, but slowing down and just working on a little bit at a time, slowly, eventually gets you there. And yeah, looking back on it all is always super rewarding.

Phenomenal video been looking for something that gives me a very basic drawing exercise. (This isn’t a diss it occurred to me while typing it might sound like one. But honestly just needed someone to give me art homework as I am self-taught) really liked your Art Camp 1 video as well. The link in the description to get the high res Charles Barque drawings no longer works.

Awesome! I imagine the bamboo stick is for resting your hand while using the brush?
@TeamBradley6 ай бұрын
Yep! My new mahl stick. I still need to fix it up a bit to make it better, but it serves. Planning on adding some sort of sticky/rubbery coating to the top so it's less prone to slipping. Also needs a few more passes of sanding/oiling to feel a bit better.
@allanbellemare19496 ай бұрын
@@TeamBradley what about some sort of eyelet or hook on the wall, beside the painting that the stick can clip to? Should be a lot more steady that way? 🤔
@TeamBradley6 ай бұрын
@@allanbellemare1949 Yeah! Thought of that too. Ideally I'd like some sort of semi-permanent one on a track above the painting. I've made/used one that fit on my old drawing board. Need to replicate that for this wall.
