I have a Tesla and I plug it into a 12 amp wall outlet in my carport and it gets me up through 95% of my driving. If I go any distance, the superchargers are easy to find because of the maps provided by the software. It is ridiculous to say that the grid would be overloaded, because there was one more small appliance, plugged into a wall outlet.

Plug in hybrid should be your first car and a small electric for your second car.
