I remember buying this the year it was released. Was blown away and was more than happy to buy it again on steam. And you know what's crazy? Koei Tecmo released Wo Long not to long after another banger title. Whats even more insane; they made another masterpiece the very next year Rise of Ronin. These fellas need a break.

The more I watch game reviews the more convinced I become that games players have grown acclimatised to exceptionally boring games. When I read a review of a game where public response is warm, but not hot, I can tell I am going to find that game boring and when the response is hyperbolic, like this one, to me it looks like an OK game. Users are so acclimatised to slogging through essentially boring games, just to give themselves something to do in their free time, that as soon as anything even remotely enjoyable to play is released there's widespread ecstasy. Even having read the reviews Hades doesn't look good enough for me to want to download and play it. It makes it look, to me, as if these games are enjoyed by people who otherwise have extremely boring lives.

This is the game with the best setting I've ever played, you get absorbed by its ambience and you feel like you're IN their world. If you haven't played it, play it, you'll be in for a treat.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I had this game on my wish-list because the visual style intrigued me. However, I saw that it was a CRPG and having only tried 12 hours of Baldur's Gate 3 at that point (and finding it quite daunting as my first CRPG experience), I wasn't sure that it would interest me. Then I came across this video, and it compelled me to buy the game. Seriously, THANK YOU! I finished it 2 days ago, and it was incredible. It deserves all the praise it gets. Every single time I opened the game I got sucked into the world for at least 2-3 hours. Genuinely one of the best games I've ever played; I already can't wait for my next play-through.

It's an alright premise to have the algorithm and mechanics of a game all out in the open to give you the impression that there is loads of complex things going on creating loads of potential playthroughs and outcomes, but its a trick, that gives some people a sense of awe when walking around imagining that the game contains more than it does and is cleverer than it is. Games like this could be made well by good writers and artists with a heavy injection of AI generated and human-steered content in the future. But here - the actual content that exists in this pretentious framework is severely lacking, Incoherent, unartistic, pseudo-intellectual and boring. Its a d'n'd fan's wankfest that aims at a spot between a good book and a good game and comes up way shitter than both.

So overrated. Absolute doggie doo foo. Don't let em fool you, there was a whole thing where the developers were giving out flat fees of 3000 to reviewers. The game is awful and forces you to perform a series of disgusting crimes of a exual nature and then the bugs turn out to be Native American in a very racist twist. In some parts of the game you're forced to take a dog that won't stop barking and pick it up and dash it against the rocks in FLIR thermal imaging and you see the insides in thermal imaging. But the upside is you get to bring Communism back to the world and that's good. I don't enjoyed the level where you quell a hunger strike by finding the leader of the local civil rights movement and in the middle of the night you bring him and his family out of their home and force him to choose between which kid to be executed and then you're turn kill only 1 of his family members but you gotta do it slow with a knife or his entire family by firing squad. Then you process the family and feed them to the locals as "meatoskavic". I might be confusing this game with Cartel Carter: Morality Mayhem. The "Sadism score" was very fun. Breaking innocent people was way funner then I thought, being able to burst a prisoner's eardrum by shooting a pistol near their head or using a revolver and ghost loading the cylinder to scare your prisoner with each click. You could fully load the cylinder and still accidentally have a dud round was realistic. Just wish the beheading system wasn't pay to win, using real audio from real beheading footage was genius 🎉
i think its just bad, wayyy too hard, and no way to make it easier, it's just frustrating at best.. the style is great tho
