I have noticed that Hollow Knight is for everyone. I have seen countless people saying how non gamers got into it and how hard core gamers really got into it. It is my favorite game because of how fair the game is and how this is the first game I mastered got to speedrun. Good review.

@@fungling7982 I'm impatient, a quitter and easily frustrated person, but i'm near the end of the game. I'm in the pantheon of the knight to be exact. For some reason dying in this game doesn't feel frustrating even tho this is the game in which i've died the most. Only frustrating thing was the delicate flower quest. And i've beaten path of pain and it didn't frustrate which was surprising. I actually found it quite therapeutic, but i can't deny it, it was difficult. I guess it was the smooth controls preventing me from ragequitting.

I think the whole idea of the compass being a charm is that you can choose to either pick something to aid your combat or survivability instead, so if you feel comfortable with the map layout, then you can get a boost with something else.

What I love the most about the game is how much it shows the love that Team cherry feels for anyone buying their games. For one, the content, soundtrack, and DLC would be worth 60 dollars, but you can get it all for the price of a pack of concept art. Second of all, it establishes a gradient of difficulty that appeals to all metroidvania players. There are many many ways one can choose to play the game, and several different endings to choose from. You aren't shamed for taking an easier path, all endings are considered canon, and it's up to you which ending is good or Bad. It allows you to explore a vast world, with tons of lore to unpack, but makes it entirely optional, in fact putting some key points of lore behind high difficulty challenges like path of pain and all pantheon bindings.

@justsomeguy28254 жыл бұрын
I judge a game highly by how you feel during the boss fights, or by challenging sections. When you finish them after dying about 10-100 times, do you think " Oh thank god thats over" or do you think "Ha, I finally got you, let's do it again". Every boss fight or challenge, excluding trial of the fool, made me feel the latter option when I was done. For that reason, hollow knight is one of the best game.

I love this game and how much effort they put into the world and the lore, but my one gripe with it is the story is overly buried in my opinion. We needed a little more of the narrative to be overt. I had to go to the internet to find out the backstory of the world and even now I still don’t fully get it. A little of that is fine but I introduced my brother to the game recently and he’s like “game is great so far but I have no idea what the story is.” I think they should have given you a little more explicitly and then still given you a lot of extra cool stuff to find on your own and dig into. They are also a little light on in-game information bc really all you have is dialogue and then those stones, and those stones don’t really say much at all, and there aren’t many of them.

Im finding this game really slow to start. Given the reviews, I fully expect to fall in love with it at some point, like everyone else. If I somehow dont, however, how long should I keep playing before conceding that its not my cup of tea? Im just finding the whole like "why am I even doing anything in this game" question is still looming even after an hour or so of playtime and getting the map.

@dan_124 жыл бұрын
Hmm, Hollow Knight is definitely hard. Like I say in the video I highly recommend it but yeah there were some bosses that had me stuck for a fair while. I don't think it will be beyond you if you want to get into it. It will just take some commitment and being ok with getting beaten up a bit. It is a little dark but the cartoony look helps to make it a little more light hearted. If that sounds ok to you, go for it! I reckon you can do it. But no big deal if not Smash Bros is a cracking game too. Good luck!
