He'd love Nanowar of Steel. They have metal songs about tricycles, a guy dating a church's gargoyle, a WWII song about a football match, and one about the planet Uranus with _all_ the butt jokes they could fit.
@SuscriptorJusticiero7 сағат бұрын
And of course, the most metal song ever: the intro and outro to the album "Other Bands Play, Nanowar Gay". _Literal_ metal.

In Germany, we have Knorkator. Lead singer is a trained opera singer, and all of their songs are just weird, absurd, and/or funny.

my man opened "Steal this Album" with a song about how pizza advertisements make him crazy enough to go to therapy. Dude is a legend.

I don’t think anyone can with clear mind look at any SOAD song and come to the conclusion of “they did not fuck with the metal”. I can think of 3 bands that truly messed with the status quo of their genre with every album. SOAD slipknot and the residents. Admittedly my catalog isn’t exceptionally deep

I mean my dumb self would probably just assume "silk pajamas" is code for something crazy like how SUGAR is often seen as code for COCAINE

Thats so dope he mentions Zappa as ive always thought of Serj n SOAD as kinda like a wacky Zappa of the metal world just less technical in some of the Instrumentals but definitely on course with some of the unusual riffs amd wacky lyrics.

I think SoaD is a band you use to get people who aren't sure about metal to have a small taste of it. Then they realize it's the only metal music they'll ever like.

That's interesting because I've always had System in it's own category/genre in my head, and I've loved them for that. System of a Down is one of the few bands that I'd say doesn't have a bad song. That's rare for me.

SOAD Will forever be the exception, the super weird experimental band who somehome was crazy popular with almost everyone in the metal scene or just the alternative scene and commercially successful, and defined a generation of listeners across the world. Nothing sounded like them at the time and nothing does today :)

Inspiring to hear Jeff admit to being reluctant to Stone and how it took many years to get to a state of love and trust. I imagined they were always close, but knowing they went through what true friends need to endure and eventually became not just bandmates of one of the greatest bands ever to now being true friends is again very inspiring and reminds me of how special are friends are.

im listening to this interview again. its some kind of therapy of seeing someone being so invested in the making the art not necessarily to be a pop girl but just really the driven passion, overcoming challenges of being the sole writer of the album and not caring about people's narratives. its intentional and i love that about her. this is why i can never be invested in another artist rather than camila because she excites me with versatility
