Yep, his name was Bob Swanson, however, the driver of the car that went off the track, Floyd Roberts, died because his car ran straight into a tree.

@ tons…. Check out our channel here on KZbin for clips. Also on our Facebook page: facebook.com/CinePostATL?mibextid=LQQJ4d We also could do a reel of your film dry vs Wetgate.

I will find the videos needed and credit you for them. How do you want it listed in end credits for use of footage?
@cinepostАй бұрын
@ the super8 Wetgate is probably the only one in use in the United States. You should probably interview one of us. Bob Castro and John Kuhn both have 40years of professional scanning experience. We also do digital restoration once scanned. Ross Lenenski does all the digital cleanup work. Is your documentary on professional restoration, or for amateurs?

Fender’s museum curator dates this footage to ‘57.

I love the way in modern times, factories use temperature and humidity control to “acclimate” wood over time to ensure dimensional stability, and in ‘57, they have a pile of lumber on the floor near an open bay.

"Come flame or fury the race goes on". We have to remember many people who either participated or watched were only 10-15 years near World War One and the era of everything new was pretty much deadly. Life went on...and so did the races. Today there'd be a red flag and end of the show "out of respect for the deceased". I'd venture to say if the deceased could have a word they'd say, "Come flame or fury the race must go on"!

My dad was stationed at Elmendorf. We lived on Park Street in the Mountain View neighborhood and I went to Mt. View Elementary (which is still there, BTW). I was ten, and I heard the earthquake coming before it hit. It was so strong we couldn't even stand up for more than a few seconds. That's an experience you never forget.
@llwpeaches4 ай бұрын
I don't imagine that anyone could forget such a terrifying event, especially when the physics involved weren't so well understood as they are now. I'm glad you managed to survive. I'm wondering if you could tell me, or point me to a resource that discusses how they managed to repair 4th avenue since half the street sank by such a large amount. I've seen it today and you'd never know that had happened. It's really impressive the way the city bounced back from such catastrophic damage. I'm moving to Anchorage in a couple of years and I'm very curious about the history of this event, especially how they fixed the downtown area.

How expensive is it to scan 35mm film into 4K in average? Say for a music video
@cinepost8 ай бұрын
Has the film already been processed?
@SantiagoMonroy58 ай бұрын
@@cinepost To be perfectly honest, I'm just curious about the whole process and how much does it actually cost. Recently several old music videos are getting 4K rescans and it left me curious about it all (and why many still haven't got rescanned), Sorry for the ignorance. And is 35mm film 4K or higher even?
@cinepost8 ай бұрын
@@SantiagoMonroy5 35mm or 16mm to 4k cost the same to rescan….. $1000-2000 maybe… but you then have to import to a 4k project and do a video layback to the original cut by cut. This costs A little money too if color And effects are needed… it all depends.
@SantiagoMonroy58 ай бұрын
@@cinepost Thanks for the info! Just curiosity and yeah I was aware of having to re-edit and grade from scratch 90% of the time. Honestly not as expensive as I thought, wish more music videos would go through that process
