Great job buddy. I love these videos….. any chance of another Ebike adventure?

Do you like the change up of riding a non electric bike for touring?
@bikingbrian20 сағат бұрын
Yeah, they don’t feel the exact same. I like both, but there is a bigger sense of freedom on a regular bike not chasing power outlets. Also regular biking is a littler bit slower so I tend to stop and smell the roses more often. With the e-bike though I get to cover more ground and see more but at a faster pace.

Oh yeah that was a fun climb. Dave was there, even a few seconds of video in the first few minutes.

Im a 4 pannier bike tourer too. Can you weigh yourall's bike with fully loaded gear. I'm curious how the weight compares. Just roll the front, then rear wheel on a bathroom scale...then combine the weight. Of course this is probably May 2024(?) so no cold weather . Good video as always.
@bikingbrianКүн бұрын
Well I don’t have the total weight but I did actually weight the panniers on that trip. 10 lbs in each front pannier and 12lbs for the rear pair. The handlebar bag is probably around 8lbs. This includes some warmer clothing since early May is unpredictable. Also had my camping chair with. 40lbs + the bike (steel) is about 30lbs as configured.

Awesome, Brian! I grew up north of Dayton and lived in Beavercreek for over 20 years. Ridden many a mile on the trail from Bravercreeks, Community Park,. You went right by it. There's a nice place to camp back behind the brewery there, too. Im sure you were aware of it due to not missing a brewery opportunity. Carillon Park, "Care-eh-lawn". Sorry, I couldn't resist. 😅 Enjoyed the video as always!

Side trips are good you get to see a lot more than what the main trail has to offer. That little tiny turtle 🐢 was really cool and you saved this man's fishing pole. Your tour brings back memories of my own ride but you are getting to see a lot more than me. Are you guys planning to stay overnight at London's trail head, it's an awesome place to camp. Enjoy the ride 👍😊

Great video, and I like your series. I'm trying to learn about this stuff: let's say you have two batteries, each with the same voltage but half the capacity of yours. Can both be charged simultaneously via a battery blender using one of your chargers? Would that take the same amount of time or am I completely off track? The idea here is to spread the weight of the energy store across two rear panniers
@bikingbrianКүн бұрын
2 batteries would work but I don’t think just splitting them for charging would work the same. Probably best to just have 2 chargers with 1/2 the charge rate. That way you’d have a backup too if one failed. This is the way to go with commercial off the shelf batteries. The larger the battery the faster the charge it can take without damaging or killing the lifespan.
