I couldn't sleep without having nightmares for about a month after watching this. I was a young boy at that time. My parents were really pissed off about this movies broadcast. I remember the teachers talking to us for weeks to try and ease our thoughts and fears. I remember that ole short film called Duck And Cover the schools played for us. It was a 50s/60s film being shown to us in tge early 80s. We laughed at it......but we sure didn't laugh at the movie! It woke up every kids minds!!!

I was 4 when this came on TV the first time. Even as a little kid, it totally traumatised me. I can remember holding my ears during the nightly news for years because I was so scared of nuclear war as a kid. Ah, the cold war childhood!

The choice of music is ridiculous. It almost sensationalised the scenes an very Hollywood style. It would be better with just the sounds of the howling wind and screaming people to at least avoid such clinical dehumanizing.

This is a movie made 40 years ago, now such weapons are much more powerful and destructive. The images of the day after would be far more tragic in reality

My 23 y/o daughter says her generation has more stress. I tried to explain to her that in the 70-80s this was what we were worried about every day. She said "it's different" now. Have to agree.

What is funny is that the world is a lot closer to complete mutual destruction under that geriatric mess in the White House. In a certain way, we're really doomed, given the amount of people like you in this world.

This should be required viewing for everyone in the world that wants to nuclear saber-rattle. To this day there is no movie that even comes close to portraying what the world would be like post nuclear exchange like Threads. Even watching this ten-minute sequence sucks the life right out of me and replaces it with dread.
