Looks great..what size tires for front and back did you install? Did you have to cut off the chain guard piece for that back wheel to fit? Thanks.

Had a few cars over the years I took apart to restore and ended up selling it unassembled. Knowing myself I now get a car running and driving and then restore as I go. I have a 1980 mini and 1977 Landrover to get going and sell or keep, Not sure.............. They both have been sitting for years.... For me I got the cars cheap and now worth money but when I sell I won't be able to buy one again at current prices....... Cheers.

Im with ya on getting bored with the bikes and wanting something new! 😆 The wife dont understand it, but its a guy thing! Ive ridden all my life, and started on these little thumpers, over 50 years ago. I currently ride a couple different bagger HDs, and i love them ! But ive been itching to get back to my roots of offroad riding. Ive been looking at a few different used XR 650l. But then i saw the Africa Twin ! Wow those are fine ! Not sure if i want to spend that much $$, plus i like the simplicity of the XR. We'll see. Thanks for the good information.

Nice Video. I have done the SM500 a few times now and have had that problem you had. Its quite simple and an easy fix. All the water, mud, and dust get into the kill switch and build up on the contacts. Thats why that guy was able to flip it back and forth a bunch and get the bike to start. Take the switch apart and clean it well. Avoid any kind of grease because it will just attract grim. Before any big ride like that, I will clean it and then clean it when I get home too. Hope this helps!

I was speaking with a coworker who recently sold his mint YJ he had purchased new and bought a JL unlimited. His biggest takeaway was the ride quality. I said if there was one thing I would do to the Wag that was a hardcore mod, it would be progressive rate coils and a simple link suspension like a factory-ish radius arm. The sound deadening stuff I plan should help some with the rattling, but a smoother ride (given the aged out road systems here in America) would make the most difference in rattles, bumps, and harshness. If you ever do coilovers or fab up a newer style suspension on Termite, I'll be taking notes.

I’ve seen people take suspension from Jk’s/Jl’s and put it under the wags. It’s totally doable just a big commitment!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This is really good information and advice. I’m the safety man for a bunch of power linemen. I will add one thing about the heat and heat illness. You don’t have to drink ice cold drinks. When you swallow ice water your body will start to warm itself to counteract the cold you consumed. It was hard for me to believe when I first heard that but over time I have come to accept it. I still drink ice cold drinks occasionally but more often than not I drink cool or room temperature water. Next, if you or someone around you seems to be getting too hot DO NOT pour ice water on them. There is a very serious risk of sending them into shock. I have my people carry a few water bottles in the cab of their truck. This is the water to pour on someone to cool them. NEVER use ice water NEVER!!! Caffeine and alcohol contribute to dehydration. Energy drinks, soda pop, and 😭beer all increase your risk of dehydration. Sorry for being a killjoy but sometimes the truth hurts. I hope someone will find this useful information.

As a Waggy owner, general how-tos or repairs on FSJs are valuable for myself. That would go for any vehicle owner, so Date Night would apply to D/W series owners. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, so the internet forums of early 2000s were invaluable for me as someone who was broke and DIY was my only option. I still am members of those forums, but they have slowly waned away in popularity and activity. YT seems to be the new way. If pics are worth 1000 words, then video is worth a million. Of course, camping inspiration is nice on down days, or seasons where I'm inundated with boring work life.

Great video… both of those projects really came out great. Though your channel is three times larger than mine I’ll say this anyway. I’ve sadly discovered that not that many people really care about what I’m doing day to day (my channel is 8 years old under 900 subscribers)but those new subscribers that tune in are more interested about how I’m doing something or how something works. ie… mpg videos, how something performs , how to build or fix stuff. And I’m going to start titling my videos that way. By the way you and you and Andria are amazing at those things. My analytics shows that my regular subscribers still tuned in when I made a random heater video and I believe it’s because they do want to see what I’m up to. Split and re-edit this video into two shortened“ how to save $ by ____” and see what happens… your and Andrias charm will keep them watching. Sorry for over stepping because I may not know what I’m talking about. A loyal Supporter. Tommy

Great video as always. Should you decide to keep the rooftop tent, have you thought about creating a lift or hoist from the rafters to suspend the tent or build extension from the rafters to hold the tent so when you back up into the garage, you can drop it from that point instead of taking it on and off the vehicle from the ground?

The Gladiator looks interesting with the retro big tires on smaller rims than you typically see. I like it. I'm also not a fan of having extra crap on top of the Wag. I have Yakima Jetstream cross bars on factory rails. Even the kayak cradles fold down when not in use, and they're only a fixture on the Jeep in warm weather. I have some nice 6x9 3-way speakers in the rear. Love them. With the 2 way 5 1/4" fronts, they give a full sound. That way, the next time you're on the Bayou, you can properly blast that CCR. Are you sure a couple hundred pounds is enough to tension your winch line?

I noticed the purple lowering link you got has larger diameter holes in it that the adjustable one you removed. I also noticed you did not show how the bolts fit into the new link you got. Be aware that the full weight of your bike (plus you if you bottom out off a jump) is bearing on the thin, metal collars only. Either that metal will wear, or that metal will cut into the bolt. I think you may want to get a snug internal bushing or go back to the stock link.
