I love washi tape! I like to butt several different patterns, colors and metallics together on card stock and then use word dies, heart dies, frames etc.

Love your vibe :) I find the cost - hunting for ingredients and stuff/doing are as, if not more costly than the official products. I like that there's possibility of creating new colours at home though :)

I like leaving more of a border around my stencil so I can use that space to tape it down to my project and not cover any of the stencil.. instead of using "slice" in design space I'm using "subtract" and you don't have those extra pieces you aren't using to delete.

Okay…so after digesting the information…I have questions… When the cold wax is dry, does it feel waxy? Or how does it feel? Is the Cold wax anything like the Art Basics 3D matte gel? Does anyone know? Thank you for the video…I like mixed media…but ask myself why I need certain things that require me to be completely uninhibited art-wise…still battling with that.

Half way through: Good thing you don’t have cats. They would be black, white and blue calicos due to lying _on_ your work… You would need to lock them out of the room or accept that all your stuff would be cat “textured” in some manner along with “fur” ephemera… Textures for touching/dabbing (edit: not dapping) wet smeared media: Old flattish buttons from the button box. Anything scrunched. Anything knit or woven that is scrunched or stretched over a protruding shape. Old stamps you don’t like or may be willing to sacrifice. At end of Video: And you’re waiting for one of the viewers to type in an answer and get it correct…this is what it is like for teachers (I can only really speak for high-school teachers.). The kids have all the answers in front of them in the resources, or in the notes they were supposed to be taking during the demo, and either no one will say anything or they will stare blankly and then a few will start to pour over the resources when you tell them…”It (the answer) is at the top of the second page…go look…I’ll wait…” I could hear the crickets and I could see your pain…LOL

Kinda long…sorry…. Hi: Thank you for the foil paper pack prize from 3 live-streams ago. Missed the wax one. Husband didn’t go to music lesson so we watched something. I missed this one due to being stuck in hospital waiting for angiogram which says my arteries are fine, no clogs, but I now have 4 new medications. Neighbour says I should buy a lottery ticket. Any way… So about making molds so you don’t have to buy them: 1. Michaels was selling Silicone Mold Maker Beads for UV Resin craft. I bought one box and then grabed two more when they went on clearance. (I’m guessing it wasn’t a big seller for them as it was only in the stores for a short while.) You only need a little of that stuff to make small molds and the stuff is endlessly reusable. Can be heated/softened in hot water or with a heat gun in a silicone receptical. Haven’t had a chance to use the stuff yet. 2. There is such a thing as friendly plastic. A long time ago it was one of the two things that I would use my electric frypan for…heating water to soften the friendly plastic and making the sugar-glue for gingerbread houses. Have not seen friendly plastic strips in the stores in decades (Some wildly coloured and extraordinarily expensive ones are being made and sold on Etsy.), but Amazon does sell friendly plastic pellets. I am unsure of how these work compared to the silicone I mentioned in #1, or how the thing you are molding needs to be treated to release properly. Some research needs to be done there. And I am sure that the friendly plastic pellets can be reused. Some of the more “nerdly” (or desperately frugal) may be able to figure a way to reclaim/recycle some plastic bags and pop bottles. 3. There are videos on KZbin which show clear silicone sealer/caulking being used in a bucket of warm water with soap in it and some other additive (can’t remember what exactly) and no I have not tried that one yet. Appeared to be rather messy and I was a little dubious about it. About the stuff to put _in_ the molds: When all us teachers had to suddenly teach on line using Teams, Home Ec Teachers were demoing recipes in front of an I-pad/computer so students could do home labs; I made a make shift white board from clear MacTac and white foam board for the grade 6’s to whom I suddenly had to teach geometry (I was trained for high-school, Home Economics). The Fine Arts teachers used something called “cold porcelain” made from Elmers glue, cornstarch and a few other items including lemon juice as a preservative. There are a variety of recipes on line and demoed in KZbin Videos that have varying degrees of usefulness. The Fine Arts teachers were using the “cold porcelaine” as a clay substitute. Apparently some cold cream in the mix will prevent it from cracking when dry. Apparently cold cream gets rid of cracks _and_ wrinkles… ;) The plaster of paris was cracking because it was too thin. I have used liquid Sculpy in shallow molds (expensive-ish) and used a thin item to _thoroughly_ dislodge bubbles before baking which will show up as holes on the “good” side. The resulting object will have flexibility and can then be shaped a bit. I have also used leather effect FIMO in small deeper silicone molds using a cornstarch release. I needed the texture for some faces that were being sewn into embroidered felt creations after application of black gesso and metallic wax pastes. A problem with hot glue and wax is that you cannot use a heat gun but will need to allow time for any colours added to them or near them to dry. Working time with hot glue is minimal to get the bubbles out in finer details. Voyager Soap and Candle, a store I mentioned in a post in another video of yours, has colourants for waxes, but I wonder how simple wax crayons would work in/with wax. FYI: 3-D printed materials will also not take any heat, but will melt and shrivel. Okay…so a lot of ideas… Public Service Announcement: Know the warning signs of a heart attack for your gender although they will manifest differently for everyone. If you have risk factors and/or a family history, make sure you carry some children’s aspirin (if you are not allergic to that medication) and crush 2 in your mouth and swallow. Get to emergency! (For Canadians, this will not be financially crippling.)

Thanks for letting our crafty community know about those companies that mainly sell non-photopolymer stamps. I learned that the hard way. I will not purchase from Temu because it is owned and operated by Chinese COMMUNIST Party. I will not buy from them, not because it is from China but because purchases support the Chinese Communist Party. I purchase other items from China just not Temu. If supporting communism doesn’t bother you…..go for it. We all have our own opinions and that is what makes the crafting so great, you do you as Tim Holtz says.
