What a wonderful selection of Tomatoes... If you loved Tiaga also Try Midnight sun also by Karen Olivier... It is also in the True north series but found it to be a little more sweeter. I grew both last grow season and this year I am going to grow all her Varieties... Yup that impressed! I have similar likes of tomatoes... Have tried the OP's except orange Crush and Pink Sweet... I will have to see if I can find seeds for them. I am in Nova scotia canada so hard to get the big ones past 2lbs... my wish list is a greenhouse for the future to extend the growing season. may 25th to sept 15th is pushing for max grow season between frosts/cool weather... god bless

Do you recommend beds running North/South, or East/West? Your dad mentioned the peas shading the celery. I assume he meant afternoon shade, in which case his beds appear to run North/South. But would love your input on it, thanks.
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork16 күн бұрын
Yes my beds run N & S , it can work either way but I prefer N&S as it gives a more even amount of sunlight on both sides of the plant.

You've gotten very good at making videos, the quality is top notch. What video and audio equipment do you use? I was thinking of make a few garden videos but don't where to start with that stuff. I know if I just use my iPhone the sound quality won't be great. Someone recommended I get a handheld gimbal. What do you recommend?

At 21:06, The netting holding the Honeydew on the trellis, looks like it has a patterned sewn top on them, do you make them, or buy them like that? I'd love to know how to make those! Also would love to see a video of how you trellis, support, fertilize and prune your raspberry plants.
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodworkАй бұрын
That is simply cloth sewn at the top of a "U" shaped piece/strip of shade netting. Works great!

I'm loving your videos! Will you be providing plans for the chicken coop? For those of us who need a little more instruction. I would be willing to pay for downloadable instructions--I'm sure there are many more out there who would do the same. Thank you for the quality videos!
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodworkАй бұрын
You're asking about the chicken coop, not the "chicken tractor," right? I could make plans no problem. Not sure how much folks would be willing to pay. Any suggestions?
@TRUFIVE50Ай бұрын
@@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork Yes--the coop with the automatic door. That's genius. It would be amazing if it could be wired to a small solar panel which would sit on the roof. That would be a nice kit to offer for sale too ;). I'm not sure how much you would ask for downloadable PDF coop plans. It seems like a lot of downloads are about $20-$40 for such things but I guess it would depend on how much time you had to put into it. What do you think?

Hi do you just spray it on leaves or just on soil for toms and capsicums ?
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork2 ай бұрын
You can do either,I normally do soil drench,don't want to put much of anything on the foliage.
@williamcarter7462 ай бұрын
Are you doing this for fall fertilizing?
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork2 ай бұрын
Only if your soil needs it because it's poor condition or you're going to be growing something that needs the nutrition in the spring. If you've never amended your soil, I would certainly do this. It will help the soil biological life to start working properly.

Thank you for the recipe. I ordered part of the ingredients from your online store and everything arrived great, thank you! I have a question regarding adding water to the mix to reduce waste. How far in advance do you prepare the mix, night before? Or longer to ferment? Details on your daily preparation method is appreciated, thank you!

24 hr soak then feed to chickens and then start the next days feed soak right after you dump the container to the chickens, so just use a non tippable pan,we use a big stainless steel dog dish that can't tip over ,and then refill your bucket and start another days feed soaking.

Love the very helpful tips and techniques. Do you rotate your tomatoes every year?
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodworkАй бұрын
No. Nature doesn't rotate crops nor do we in most cases. The soil biology gets "optimized" for the type of plant grown in a certain area and rotation just makes the biology have to "start over." No Till, No Dig.
