Imagine if the Shah chose the F-15 Eagle . The Shah was given a choice between F-15 and F-14 by then President Nixon . If Iran had 60 F-15 Eagles they will not be a push over even with the A model .

The other myth in this story is that the Germans were unaware of radar. The Germans, in fact, had far superior radar technologies developed before the Allies. Early on, Hitler only saw it as an offensive tool and not a defensive tactic. The Germans were surprised at how crude the radar systems used by Britain were. It was the Brit's coordinated reactions through Bomber Command that made it successful. Germany already had two radar systems named Freya and Wurzburg that were far superior.

Probably due to my age but I loved the F-14 tomcat and watching them fly. Probably the only time in my career that i actually want to be a pilot instead of an infantryman. Beautiful plane

This is off topic of the video but, I've always wondered...why do all of these extremist Islamic fundamentalist revolutionaries always look absolutely miserable with life? I've never seen them smile, they never seem to be joyful...they just always have a grimace mug on their faces. JoyLESS would be the word. I don't get it. Xi in China is much the same. Expressionless

As a U.S. Navy submariner I that has gotten the same data on a Russian submarine, there are a lot of holes in this report. It did happen. But as the U.S. and British Submarine Forces shared data at that time… I’m not going to fill those holes in. I can say it was a lot damn harder and risky than implied here. We were fortunate to get our target and data. It was fun, we can get a lot closer to noisy Russian ships then you know.

FORCED UNIFICATION in 1968 was the the death blow that has lead to the current state of the Military…The Libs delivered the Death Blow and consecutive Government abuse and neglect (With Moments of hope) has continued to bleed out the military…the BLOAT at the top, the killing of espree decor, the messed up recruiting cogs and the multiple layers of procurement debacles continue to kill the CAF…it’s both maddening and frustrating. The ELEPHANT in the room that nobody talks about is unification…with the services quietly and strategically trying to get back to what it looked like before 1968… No Country in the world has ever unified their forces in the way Canada has, giving everyone the same uniform losing identity, cutting budgets to be somewhat shared between the three…absolutely Rubbish… The Government constantly take money away for Social programs silently expecting our American Brothers and sisters to the south to take up the slack in our successive Government budget cutting debacles…EMBARRASSING!

I met a man today who was a pilot on the Bonny, and closed out his career at CFB Comox as the base commander. He told me a few great stories, and I was amazed I didn't know our country once had these amazing ships. It was a true honour to meet him, and hear his stories.

Iran should just procure an eventual 80 or so Su-30SMI based on the Russian Su-30SM3 to replace the Su-24, MiG-29, Mirage F.1, F-5, F-4D/E and of course, F-14A.

We have aircraft carriers? The only time I've ever seen an aircraft carrier is when I lived in Victoria back in the 90s and a US aircraft carrier came into thd Juan De Fuca strait. I don't remember which one it was but it was massive. First time seeing something like that.

Honestly it makes sense why thee Canadian military has seen a decline. Canada is located in North America. To the South is America, to the East is the massive Atlantic Ocean, to the West, the even larger Pacific Ocean. The North is basically just a frozen wasteland, practically impassable for any large military. Its a secure and cozy corner, and its super easy to get complacent as maintaining a massive standing Army durring Peace time is insanely expensive, not to mention everyone in politics views Foreign Relations (Like power projections with the military) as an expensive luxury thats hard for them to justify, as its often unpopular with the voters.

Liberal verbally ran them down starved them neglected them tilltheir numbers were onadequate it took many years to get new anything 3yrs to get bids on nrww sidearms. Then came deficiencies in reliability. 2yrs for repairs. Now we know why forces have little morale still under liberal rule tata.
