I don't skate but watch a lot of skating videos, with that said maybe tighten the trucks a lil cause it looked like you got wheel bite when you came down a lil hard there in the end, might give you more wiggle room if you don't land perefect. I am 35 and I really enjoyed the content, keep it up!
@frontsidehealth6 күн бұрын
@@mrgreenhs appreciate you watching and the input, you’re correct too, I also noticed the wheelbite. I do usually skate pretty loose as it has it’s advantages elsewhere but obviously not when you land hard on one side coming in fakie lol

what do you think would be a good exercise for improving like your jump height?
@frontsidehealth8 күн бұрын
Jumping is all about power. Box jumps are a great way to help generate more power (what I personally do). There is also a method called "contrast training" where you pair an exercise like squats with a power exercise like box jumps. You should check out "skate athletics" channel, he's got excellent content on this. Like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4WtaH2pr5aXqrc

But your vids are inspiring me, thank you so much bro. (sorry about my bad english)
@frontsidehealth12 күн бұрын
@@AndrePiza-m1n heck yeh man, this is awesome to hear! I’m psyched that you’re finding motivation from my videos, and I hope you stick with it! My suggestion would be two things mainly: if you don’t currently keep an eye on what you’re eating and have some kind of weekly workout schedule (off the board) I would work on that as it’ll help greatly your ability to skate for a long time. And also, have fun! Don’t feel the need to learn tricks because you feel you should, rather just learn the ones that YOU want to do👍😎

Thanks, appreciate you watching. For sure, the commitment aspect is much different. I have to set up these little progressions if something scares me, but I do notice that I can send it if I'm skating consistently (2-3x/week) but I'm usually only hitting 1-2 sessions
@RedBoard8615 күн бұрын
@@frontsidehealth I practiced roll ins this morning at the park. Baby steps though. The transition had an attached bank, so did that first, then eased into the transition, then was able to roll in at a decent speed. I was able to do similar for roll outs. Use the bank first, then was able to use the actual transition. Was a really productive session. I filmed it for a video, but may not get it posted for a few weeks (trying to get a backlog to make up for barely skating due to a rolled ankle- which is finally at a point where I can do slide tricks again)

I think you could benefit in general from bending your knees more. I use to be quite rigid while skating. Focusing on bending my knees helps me a lot while balance or just courage lacking.

38yo here too. Got back into it back in May after a 20yr break and have done so much more than when I skated when I was younger (just casual skating). I could only ollie, ride on 50-50, and boardslide. In the last 5 months, I’ve landed a few rolling pop shove-its, kickflip and heelflip in grass, nose stalls, noseslides, boardslides, and working on better manuals and FS/ BS kickturns (rolled my ankle and all I can practice at the moment is manuals and kickturns). I love skating and it has been great for me even if it is only going out front or in the backyard

Not bad, wouldn’t focus on angle as much as trying to get deep in there (might feel scary at first) and actually “rock” it. Don’t just place it there and pivot. Seems like a mellow ramp so rocking will be harder than on a steeper ramp actually. Looks good tho, I would try to go straight onto it tho it will look cleaner.. just my two cents
