Awesome stuff, wondering what work you had to the radiator, was it a new top tank, I seem to be having trouble fitting mine, it was like yours with the top tube but struggle to get the bonnet to fit really nice, seems to rest on it a bit

@@jakesingles8327 radiator was fairly good. Just had to add a little bit of solder on one spot on the top tank.

Ross, great job as usual. In my experience, the white teflon tape isn't fuel proof for the longer run. I have used the yellow stuff (for gas connections) and that seems to be fuel resistant.

The shims dont need a sealer as unless the seal is leaking it is only grease in there. Its a big job tidying up tractors eh.

Hey Ross, great to see you've pulled another old beast out of retirement! I see you've used white PTFE tape on the fuel tap. In my experience this dissolves in the presence of fuel (but may be OK with diesel, I don't know). I always use the yellow PTFE tape for fuel connections, as it can withstand fuels no problems.

Make sure the fuel is on straight petrol to start it first.😃

Essentially a British version of the Ford 8N. Ferguson was given all of the engineering drawings and material specifications for the 8N when they settled with Ford over the 3 point PTO and lift dispute. I have a 48 and a 52 8N both flatheads…Ford did not build a OHV engine tractor until the Jubilee in 53. Nice machine. I’ll lay odds that a 8N 12 volt conversion kit will fit it with little modification.

No plates for the feet?, just got one myself also new painted, but not by me, cracks in the block from frost most likely but just on the right side, starts immediately, but doesn t run well, putting an electronic ignition on it next month I think, see if it will run better, will try and weld the cracks, but don t have high hopes it will work, so maybe will get another block?, have made a trailer bar and a fork pull to put on the bar, so can pull both categories, the tractor is a handy size, except mine has 28 R 480 rear tires mounted, so no sharp turns recommended if pulling trailer.

If its not the injector causing that smoke chances are the spill timing of the injector pump needs to be checked. A crook delivery valve will give uneven firing/running as well. If the unloading collar of the delivery has any scratches on it just replace it. They should never be polished or lapped.

My grandfather bought one new in 1959 . I was in 3rd year at high school and took the head off and replaced the gasket. Not a bad little tractor, they had some faults but most tractors did back then. They were however better than a TE20 Ferguson. My favourite was the MF 135 Multi Power I went to an Agricultural High School in Adelaide South Australia and they had one.
