Can bass boost help overcome bass roll off from stick head unit?

lol. I'm even trying to make my sub enclosure much smaller because it lacks punch, I hope it works though, the enclosure is still being made.

Isn't your speaker box setup wrong because the port is 180 degrees from the sub canceling out waves? I've always been told don't go more than 90°

Have watched a few of your builds. Def a talented tech who knows his equipment. But, it would be nice to see what you’re doing without the view being blocked. Can I humbly suggest a second camera at higher position, a bit to the right, to see the work space from above 👊🏻

SPL didn’t become big until the turn of the millennium. Before that it was about how low you can go. But the industry peaked and manufacturers had wished they’d done things different and could have secured more profits. So what they did (through SPL) is took the market back to the late 80’s. And now they in essence get to start over and add those products they wished they’d done things had implemented back then. Products you do not need if you know the secrets from that era. That is a big reason there is so much confusion over band pass enclosures and class “D” amplifiers. Leaving the average bass head constantly in search of that low he or she is looking for. Back in my day it was never about decibels. The competitions were judged on who can hit the lowest frequency. Today we are being sold over decorated Dj loudspeakers and then guys are trying to get them down low. Never happen, I can take a 50 dollar pioneer, the right amount and box and hear me coming down the block way before one of these $1k subs will. But that was the problem and why the markets changed. The art was perfected and it was done cheap. Bad for business so it got scrambled and now we have this mess called spl to unscramble. Most of these newer sound “gurus” are not fans of the band pass because they either do not know the formula, the set up to build ir they are being payed to make videos by a manufacturer that wants the band pass to stay in the closet so they can sell “spl”….👍

R starters they are called “button heads” and the only application they should be used in is as a “trim” fastener only. There is a reason for that design and a reason why they should only be used to “button” up sheet metal trims. For one the wrench size is always one size smaller than a typical socket head which is what would be proper for that application. Being that the wrench size is one smaller and the walls much thinner you cannot torque those down tight at all or you will most definitely do with a button head screw. That is probably what happened there and so on maybe had to get drilled out. I see button heads used improperly all the time because either they are cheaper ? Or , it’s all that was available. But his forbid you have to be the guy that encounters one improperly torqued down and have to drill one out 😆👍✌️

I think your videos should include TSP, Distortion, FResponse, recommend Crossoverpoint (determined by Distortion and FResponse) and maybe even Klippel data, that way customer, would have an easier time picking the right speaker. To be real, I think all company videos should include that.

Ya know .I never believed this myself..but after 25 years and the upgrade in quality has proved this .I downgraded to tens to experiment with cone space instead of watts..and that was a whole different world..but tens were the first subs I actually "heard" break in..so I think the size of course makes a difference too..

Thanks for such an interesting video, just a question have you ever encountered a vintage speaker from the 1930s known as the Goodmans twin cone 12 inch 15 watt, 15 ohm one and a half inch voice coil bass response loud speaker my dad had one installed in a large cabinet that was lined on the inside with underfelt and it was connected with two chassis one a pre amplifier and the other for radio use and connected to a record changer, both the chassis were of the glass vacuum tube variety, but boy that speaker was so gutsy in its bass response and overall sound. Until one day my brother foolishly the loudspeaker to the wrong output of the amplifier and blew the crap out of the speaker and of course all the copper wire on the voice coil untravelled as it was acting as a fuse, a big loud " bang" and a cloud of dust. I was just wondering if you have ever re- coned one of these?.
