How easily accessible is the case? Like can you open up the front panel easily to take it out from time to time? Thinking about getting the atat case.

all the panels can be removed. just unscrew and remove.

This was a very nice video. I just found my old D in the attic and am trying to figure out what to do with it. Not sure if I would go for the trouble of lighting it the way you did bit it was very fun to watch.

The tiny hole next to the power connector is intended for releasing the second clamp. It's easier and less destructive than prying on the even tinier seam. Only needs an ifixit SIM tool(strong stainless steeel) or any cheap SIM tool that you don't care about.

You didn't put any thermal pads or paste on the vrms by the APU. They require that to make good thermal transfer to the heatsync/ vapor chamber

well spotted. I did but them in afterwards when i watched the video back, but thank you for pointing this out.

No you are incorrect for the price of that kit. It is extremely bad. I sunk over $1200 in fixing my model, aftermarket parts, 3D printed parts a whole new lighting systems, paint corrections, gap correction light leak corrections, Yea It was extremely bad.

what is the cost of a build such as this?
@R_T_Ralph19 күн бұрын
I worked out, if its almost £50 per month, and ignore the final issue which only has 2 parts as the sum of the costs makes it easier. £50 times 30. Basically, too much, but it was a fun build and looks great as a model, but has massive potencial for someone who can see this for what it could be. probaply cheaper to get a similar sized model and pay a pro to light and paint it. I still enjoyed the build, and love to look at it.

It’s a great idea but falls far short, a very wishy wash paint scheme, little curvature on the saucer and engineering hull at the edges and those awful seam lines. :(

I remember when my dad took my slim apart back in 2012 to clean all the dust out everything was going well until he damaged 1 of the ribbon cable off the disc drive for not being careful! He had to order a replacement. Now today I managed to take my extra 1 apart & did a better job than he did no damages this time.😂 Great dissembly video always smart to watch 1 before taking it apart.

I have followed your updates, Emgos and two other channels. There's enough visible pain in cabling up every single habitat light. I am now overly content to have bridge, running lights, nacelles and deflector dish only .. I can't endorse this any more as a fully lit starship model.

I appreciate the honesty. Because I do not think the final model looks that good. That’s not down to the build, it’s just not well thought though. Other part builds look the business. This looks like a big Dinky toy. But thank you for taking us through it.

Man that is one shitty model given the price and work involved. Light leaks everywhere, seams where there shouldn't be, WAY overengineered, too heavy, can't even hold itself together. Flash rates are wrong. I feel sorry for the people who bought this.
