Wouldn't be surprised if BMTH abandon whatever they're doing to continue reviving their hardcore era now that its super popular

I've listened to BMTH since day 1, basically. Something I love about them is that there sound is ever changing and evolving. No album or song sounds identical. I also think it has definitely helped with their longevity and ability to connect with all types of people over a 20 year career. I was sad to see Jordan go, but that's part of growing and changing. I LOVE this new album, it's hands down one of my faves.

glad to see oli realized it did become the oli and jordan show. im usually really open to artist getting experimental, i even dont mind the new linkin park vocalist. but like i absolutely HATED bmth after sempiternal. like they literally dropped one of the best metal albums of this millenium, tastefully incorporated with electronic elements and anything after that was absolutely unlistenable for me. post-human stuff was meh, i get what they were going for and it did not work for me. im horrified but not surprised to hear that the band was not involved in the writing process at all. lee is a good guitarist that can write great riffs and even solos, and im excited to hear his contributions again. im following the future career of bmth with great interest even though i can’t stand to listen anything past sempiternal in the past 10 years

I liked Jordan’s contributions to sempiternal and a few songs on that’s the spirit but from that’s the spirit onwards him and Oli had way too much control of the bands sound, like Lee is a great guitar player and if I remember correctly him and Oli used to do most the song writing together and then after Jordan joins he pretty much gets demoted to a background character, like come on he’s the LEAD guitar player use him 😂 Lowkey wouldn’t be surprised if everyone starts sounding like bmth now since all these bands are using Jordan, same thing happened after sempiternal came out everyone started copying that style

I'm not a fan of reading things into songs or family unfollowing bandmembers on social media when we have multiple interviews with both Jordan and Oli talking about the issue. I take what they say by face value and believe that Jordan's departure was due to creative and professional disparities and with best intentions for all people involved.

You guys do know that Fish has writing credits for the music in 7 of the 13 songs, right? So to say they did the album without him is a bit ridiculous. (Although, admittedly, I thought he’d have even more writing credentials for the album.)

Jordan coming in during Sempiternal definintely made BMTH what it is today, so I was sad when he left. but listening to Oli describe the process, I think they made the right decision.

honestly this clears up everything jordan's approach and ethics are clear as day and I'm already tired of hearing all these mick gordon sounding songs everywhere, I'm not a fan of nex gen and I've grew tired of post human but amo and TTS still feel like something fresh and original

I geniunly love when bands try to expand their horizon (no pun inteded), rather than sounding all the same for their entire career as so many metal bands seem to fall in that trap. Which is completily fine tbh, but the backlash of so many people in the metal community for going outside the confrot zone old always kinda bothered me.

I think he will work well with Spirtbox's work ethic since the band is technically a duo too ran by Mike and Courtney

not gonna lie, mother tongue is probably the catchiest thing they have ever made, and its not even remotely close to the rest of their material. even on amo, it stood out with just how poppy it was.

I can't help but think it's about songwriting credits (aka money splits). THIS IS ALL HYPOTHETICAL. A lot of songs written and released while Jordan was in the band has credited mainly Oli and Jordan, and not the other three. I feel Jordan may have wanted it that way because technically the other three didn't write the songs so why should they get a big cut of the split. Maybe after so many albums of this, they've brought it up to Oli as a "either he goes or we go" type of situation. IDK but that's just my HYPOTHETICAL thinking.

It's fairly standard for band members and their families to unfollow everyone when it comes to a split. The amount of notifications and tags, and questions regarding the situation becomes unbearable, so it's just easier to unfollow.

Ijust can't see RIP as a Jordan diss track. The theme fits right into the TTS era type of friend betrayal songs. The song just happened to be released at the time Jordan left. "Still alive but you're dead to me" is the opposite of what Oli said about Jordan in interviews.

I work at one of the venues from the UK tour they did in January this year ...Jordan was part of the band / still scheduled to be apart of the UK tour in January as of the 15th of December (5 days before the leaving announcement) according to the set / rigging plans sent across to us. His keyboards were still part of the set lay out sheets.

I have never been a real bmth fan. I really liked there is a hell and sempiternal, but that's it, so I've mostly viewed this out of casual interest. Looking at it, it seems that sykes and fish should've done a side project. If they basically took away creative contribution from the other members, then it's not really the same band anymore. Perhaps it could've prevented some resentment from forming and basically leading to fish's departure so the other members could start contributing again.

Jordan sounds a lot like a studio producer with his maximizing productivity approach, which is great for artists hiring him to get a job done but can be exhausting as a long term band member (especially if the band wants to experiment and push boundaries).
@SolamenteTavo3 күн бұрын
The band matured with him and then dematured once he was gone lol what an inmature bunch of bs they have been trowing. Lee is an amazing guitarrist but a great guitar work doesnt remove how awful person Oliver Sykes is now that he is the only front face again. But don't get me wrong, I'm happy about it, I love his work with Architects and wonder whic other bands he will help produce amazing stuff

tf are you on about? I will always love Jordan and his contribution to the band but BMTH have learned a lot from him & they’ll be just fine without him. it seems like you got a personal vendetta against Oli lmao did he do something to you? 😂

@SergieRachmaninoff i literally said "since holy hell". I believed they peaked on LF//LT and AOGHAU and hit rock bottom with last album. However, the three new songs are great, and even tho they don't come close to AOGHAU, this is the best thing they put out since Holy Hell. Hope it helps
