I would go nv4500. That's the 1ton 5spd of that generation. I swapped one into my 94 and loved it

Reverse lights are same connector, I don't recall if vss is the same but you can always splice it if need be

yeah i have an early nv4500 that im going to swap my nv3500 LS swap for but i cannot find an external slave cylinder bellhousing for the life of me. my truck is already setup for the external slave since it already has an early nv3500 in it so i really just want to keep the stock clutch stuff. But any ideas where i can buy a bellhousing like that or something similar?

My nv3500 came with a Slave cylinder that’s located outside of the trans can I still use it to hook up to the ls no problem or do I got to put a Hydraulic throw up bearing ? Need help pls !!!!

It should still work. I'm going to be doing external slave sm465 with LS. Just make sure you use the big clutch for the 168 tooth LS flywheel

Peeled the chrome plating off and then typical paint prep. A razor can get under the chrome and then just peel. It sucks🤣

What do you use for data logging now that you use the obdx vx instead of the obd link? I tried using tuner pro but it doesnt seem to support the obdx?

@@cameronpierce5188 you're correct. I've been using PCMlogger that comes with PCMhammer. It's not awesome, but it will get you the data you need. You can import the data from PCMlogger into mega log viewer to get a better look, because it's kinda hard to see trends in excel.

@@GEARHEADdezign Have you ever used torque pro on android? I set up an EGR V to afr PID/equation but I don't have a wideband yet (coming this winter). I haven't had the chance to try data logging with torque pro yet but it outputs a .CSV so theoretically it should be able to with with megalog viewer? I'm hoping to be able to get data logs without lugging around a laptop but we'll see how it goes.

@@DAUltimateSACRIFICE sounds like a hot rod truck application, so the nv3500 would be ok not using it for towing etc. Aside from a car transmission is gonna shift the smoothest. An AR5 with LS adapter could also be decent on your SBC.

I had a similar experience after changing a faulty clutch master cylinder. The faulty unit allowed all kinds of trash into the system an made it impossible to bleed. It left the same squishy pedal. I removed the entire line and flushed it. I re installed the line as in this video without the check valves. Only difference is that I had an SKP master (SKCM640037) made out of metal. Instead of the clips up top it uses a split pin to retain the hose. Clutch now works better than it ever has since i owned the truck. Even almost shifts smoothly. :S

@@GEARHEADdezign I used the same wiring hardness I had before. I double check the wires everything matches up but no sound. I connected a speaker directly to the unit and I got sound.

Not sure if I missed it, but did you build the bottom end on this engine (outside of the cam…?), curious how much morepowahbaby you could’ve squeezed out by going to 11:1 or higher…? Also, any particular reason you didn’t try a 3500 swap or hybrid with the build? Feel like you could’ve snuck into 12s easily with a built bottom end and the 3500 components. Still very impressive.

I can’t remember the reason it’s not super popular to swap the whole 3500 in (IIRC there was some extra hassle to make the bottom play nice), but I think the combination of your mods on that engine would’ve got you into the 12s, which would be insane for N/A. Why’d you end up selling this beast?

@@IvyMike551 the 3500s had better heads and 9.8 compression instead of 9.5, but the crank reluctor was wrong for the old ECMs. 12s might have been possible, but still noone has beat my 13.2 yet.😎🤣

Hey at least it wasn't a hard hit. Maybe its a good thing something failed on the brakes at low speed like this vs a failure on the street or drag racing. Pretty crazy. Curious as to what ended up falling..

Omfg!!! I finally found you! You must be my long lost brother from another time! I once had a chevy corsica. My granddad and I put a ls in it, converted to rear wheel drive. I blew the heads and never got to fix it (I was 17, broke, and no direction). The car sat in his shed for years until they junked it. I miss it so much. Even if it was just a paperweight. Now I have money and time and I miss the thrills. So glad to see you do this. Much love. You got a new subscriber. I'm motivated to do it again now!
