This is a really cool boat design. Can you tell me about the front and hull design? Is it some kind of hybrid between planeing and displacement? The ball at the nose reminds me of a modified hydrofoil. Or one of those big bulbs at the front of cruise ships.

Does the owner find this hull design to be right for their use? I think it looks great, but have no ability to evaluate the function.
@POLESONMARINE8 күн бұрын
@@kevinhornbuckle hi, I’m in contact with Chris the owner regularly and he has only good to say about the little cat. The only thing that happens he has said is at a certain speed around 27 -28 knots a little bit of very fine mist will come out of the tunnel when going with the wind and wet the windscreen. Any speed either side of that and it doesn’t happen. Iv built a second one myself now and there are orders for 3-4&5 now in various layouts. I hope to have a video of no2 on soon once I get to sea trails. Cheers

What do you mean by "folded"? Is that a technique to bend the metal sheets. BTW, very nice boat.
@POLESONMARINE3 ай бұрын
Hi, it’s referring to the panels all being flat with pressed bends to get the shapes. In the workshop we would say ‘folded’ the part. So it’s a bit of a kick name that’s stuck. The bottom of the boats pretty conventional but everything above the water is flat with folds. Thanks, glad you like it. Cheers, Tommy

@POLESONMARINE3 ай бұрын
@@desmondmarais5044 Thanks. The main reason for the hulls to be like this is for the weight carrying and lifting in the front. Because most of my boats are for lobster fishing before pleasure boating it steers the design in a different way to a pure angling and performance boat.

From around 9:00 you give us a long pan that first reveals "Port Mellon", then continues on to reveal "Mevagissay". I so wish you'd continued the pan and just put up the name place "Fog". 😀 Love the no-nonsense approach. Letting the landscapes and seascapes speak for themselves. Oh, and that's a fine looking boat!
