I'm looking at one right now because I was driving in Houston today in my 2015 Passat TDI and it was not shifting into third when I was shifting lanes and merging. It's felt a little sloppy with occasional issues shifting from 1-2 but I almost got rear ended so it will be worth the peace of mind. If it makes driving better that's just a bonus.

Installing my Sigma , like you said, brought me to learn more about how the trans works and I've done all my friends. However it isn't a short shifter with a weight at one end, it's just a nice looking billet piece. Shifts are a bit more precise if you adjust / install correctly. Locking the tower comes to mind as something that might be hard for some people

The throw is definitely shorter than stock, I measured 3rd-4th on both, If I remember it was like a 1in difference but not very dramatic. I believe that to be from adding more leverage compared to the stock shifter and the bushings are firmer along with it being billet gives that nice notchy feel. I've driven mustangs with short throw shifters and some were really short. FWD setups are different getting from inside leading to the engine bay above the trans. I don't really know other shifter applications on FWD platforms besides the GTI. I've been looking at the BFI heavyweight shift knob to add to the system and I've heard the dogbone insert makes shifts feel better too.

@@SavageGTI If I were you J wouldn't get a DB insert. Look at 034's billet Dogbone. It's the best out there imo. Will last the life of your car.

oh yea bro I used the bolts that came with gfb dv and they tighted good

I'll give you the benefit of a doubt there but thread locker is an additional thing you put on the bolts because over time the vibrations from the engine can loosen up and rattle out bolts. the only real way to diagnose the problem is to look for leaks in the whole turbo set up I was lucky and it was just the stock dv

ok I will , do you think a obd2 scanner will help me ? and boost tester?

boost tester yes look for tutorials on those. obd2 scanner is always helpful and when and if your ecu throws a code you can confirm its a boost related problem

I even cleaned the maf sensor incase it was that , could be a boost leak?

sounds like a boost leak to me intake and maf doesn't really effect boost pressure a stock gti should push 12psi of boost. if you didn't use thread locker on the gfb dv maybe a bolt is loose and the seal is broken

hey bro I have a question my mk6 gti only gets to 8psi boost , what could be the problem? any ideas thank in advance

If you have a check engine light it could be that your diverter valve has a leak which happened to my mk5 and I have a video on that, it is a simple and cheap fix. Or it could possibility be something with the waste gate a hole in intercooler piping I can't say for certain.

search forms, listen for a leak, spray soapy water on piping rev up the car and see if you find bubbles. hope you figure it out bro

I cringed so hard when you pulled off the stock cable ends. I know they arent being re used. Still should have compressed the spring and locked the collar to open position. Especially if your making a diy video.
