I have been using just .25 cal 34 grain pellets @ 960 FPS with 70 FPE, and frequently take groundhogs past 120 yards. The drop is just crazy at that distance also, but I have yet to find a slug that my LWMG Polygonal choked barrel likes. I watched 1 video a couple years ago that used a NSA 38.5 grain slug with good results so I got some and duplicated the speeds in the video but could not duplicate his accuracy. I just have to accept my LCS SK-19 is NOT a slug gun sadly. So much power and ease of adjustability and can't use a damn slug! The .22 cal version uses a LWMG barrel but it is grooved and not a polygonal barrel. It would be much better for slugs IMO than a polygonal that is choked. I have used both but sold the .22 cal SK-19. It loved FX Hybrids. Both guns are ridiculously accurate , powerful, and a blast to shoot being semiautomatic. Follow Ups when needed are instant and appreciated greatly v/s manual cocking a side lever which are still very nice over a bolt action IMO. Good information bud...thank you.

Have you had any luck using the fx hybrids? I know their not heavy for better bc, but they seem to expand and grenade. Good for close range? I've taken out racoons out to 80yds with head shots using them. Body and head shots at 50 and closer. Dropped opossums at 80yds with head and body shots. Shooting them at 900fps out of a kral puncher breaker silent. Just curious if you've tried them.
@themichiganoutdoorsman
@themichiganoutdoorsman 28 күн бұрын
Yes, I ran them when I first bought the FX impact and the Pantera. I really didn’t mind them. I like the fact you could shoot them faster than most Ammunition. And the tuning they weren’t as fussy on. It seemed like you could just load them up and shoot them. After I learn more about tuning is when I switched to different ammo.

Is that the standard or the heavy duty bipod, I see they have double and triple pull bipods, I personally would go with the heavy duty one
@themichiganoutdoorsman
@themichiganoutdoorsman 28 күн бұрын
So when I purchased this bipod, the only options they had was the PRS version, standard, double pull, and triple pull. I never seen a heavy duty one although I imagine that would’ve been a better choice for me as well cause I need just a little more weight out the front end. But this height has been perfect clearing the beans in the fields and also Shooting PRS matches.

I can't wait to see more hunting other than birds. These air rifles are capable of so much more then some dang birds. I like the content brother. I recently got a Dynamic 700 mm .30 and it's a monster. Shooting Griffin 78 grain boattails at 985 fps 168 fpe and that thing slaps. I just dropped a groundhog at 90 yards and the last groundhog I shot was last year with the .22 M3 800 mm and I hit it twice at 80 yards. 1 in the neck and 1 in the heart and it still made it down the hole so I switched to .25 caliber on the M3 and it hits like a truck. Shooting 50 grain AVS boattails at 1008 fps for 112 fpe. It dropped 2 coons at 50 and 120 yards. I'm just yapping now. Lol! Can't wait to see more.
@dougiefresh3767
@dougiefresh3767 Ай бұрын
That is true if indeed you are shooting them at the same speed, but when you push it up there near max, the 34 becomes flatter due to you being able to shoot it faster. The 34 grain Griffin boattails I'm shooting only have 5.2 inches of drop at 100 yards vs the 40 grain Griffins at 1040 fps have 5.7 inches of drop but the 40s do retain more energy downrange with the higher ballistic coefficient. Get you some Griffin boattails in .217

@themichiganoutdoorsman
@themichiganoutdoorsman 28 күн бұрын
So far range time this rifle shoots well, the dilemma I’m having right now is the hammer spring is worn out from being probably left cocked for so long before I bought it so I can’t get every round to detonate. I am looking for a spring that will fit it and once I do, I will probably update the channel on the rifle.

To me, if a .22 PCP won't shoot 900 fps with a 18.13, I'm not interested. Have a nice day. Just shut the "F" up! Don't care! "All you need is 12 ft lbs to take small game." Good! I measured the distance needed and bought a cheap arca rail off of Amazon for like camera mounts. Then drilled and tapped my rifle stock for a 8-32 screw. It’s the same size as the sling studs. I made sure I was deep enough to hit the aluminum inside the rifle stock.

I use the same brand of ammo. When you went from the aluminum tank to the Airforce carbon tank (not your Africa Ordinance tank) what was the difference in speed, as well as accuracy. Did accuracy remain the same? I want to upgrade my original aluminum tank to the carbon fiber and want to make sure the upgrade is worth it. By the way, I have the same suppressor on mine and man the gun is long, but quiet.
@themichiganoutdoorsman

I did not have a chronograph when I had upgraded from the aluminum tank, so I am not sure what kind of power and speed differences. I do remember I had valve lock with the higher pressure and had to adjust my hammer spring, but that’s about all I remember.
