Bangkok is my favorite city in the world ! My Thai wife and I have a condo in Bangkapi …. $130/month. No big fridge or stove inside but we do have a washer . My wife cooks on a gas stove on the balcony . Your view is a lot better too.

We got a condo in Nonthaburi; we are only here for a year until Thai Wife can come to US (until Son graduates 2ndary... then back to Lat Krabang or Samut Prakan). BUT, to your point, I'd been trying to get her to do same, cooking space on balcony. She won't, but she works in a restaurant that has great rating so perhaps less meaningful. I got her a hot water kettle and rice cooker yesterday.

So, when you get to Retirement at a much later age, and you have determined where you will live permanently there are a few things you might want to have. The most important is that you live in a one floor home, apartment etc. No falling down the stairs. I worked with my uncle when the Americans with Disability Act was created, so your doorways etc. need to accommodate strollers, wheelchairs etc. My washer / dryer is in a separate room also but there is a second door which leads to the outside with a ramp, which can be used to get in the house etc. Important is also access on a regular basis for a caretaker. I and my wife, both have dogs which are with us constantly which is a great thing to have for safety and comfort. Sounds like you are years away from this type of Retirement so just take notes and good luck in the future😎

That domed building you mentioned is actually called the LeBua hotel and the bar is the Sky-bar, one of the highest outdoor bar lounge areas in the world. Keep in mind fairly strict dress code! Funny thing they actually sell clothes on the street outside to tourists to gain entry. It is famous from the movie the hangover. The river is called Chao Phraya. I know you’re building it is a pool you swim in :). You will get the hang of it the longer you stay. Enjoy Bangkok! Lots to offer!

Hi guys! Been watching for a few months now. You two are truly inspiring us to take the leap! Since we have never been to Thailand or Asia for that matter, we are planning a scouting trip for our next vacation. A fun video idea if you have not done already would be showing or telling us what areas to check out, how much time to spend in each place, best ways to travel around, where to stay, etc. I know a lot of your current content has many of these details but one dedicated to a "test run" trip would be great. I love how you guys are open with sharing what you spend. Very curious how much for the place you are in now. Thank you for all the knowledge you are providing for the rest of us weary hopefuls!

I want to stay in my nice bed and sleep. 🤣. I miss my kids. My kitchen. The kids are grown adults with their jobs and lives but I miss being close to them. Maybe, I need to stay home for a bit more. Have fun in the new apartment. Just don't buy too much food and store them. 💕
