I love the breakdown of the greater history around the war stories. I enjoy realizing the broader scope at play, and while Battlefield 1s war stories may glorify WW1 for the reasons you listed at the end, I do appreciate them for being in one of the few, if not only, mainline Triple A video game to use the WW1 setting and bringing to light an overshadowed part of history. Also, I would LOVE to see a video of you breaking down the 300+ Codex entries in the game. Would love to hear some commentary on those since I love chasing after them myself. Maybe you can even talk about the Mutiplayer maps? Just a suggestion. Very well done video, good sir. Have a nice day.

This is why older cod games were so good. Because they showed real stuff like that. They made it real. The newer cods aren't nearly as good.

Just 6 Minutes in but I got to say: Huge Thank you ! Battlefield 1 sparked my interest in the causes of WW1 and why different nations had certain goals but it was a lot for me to digest and my head would blow away by all those information. Thanks for summarizing them up :) Edit: A video on the Codex entries would be awesome!

Battlefield 1 is one of my favorite games hands down due to its story and amazing gameplay. Each mission has its own unique story but the first level always got me. In games you’re used to being the main character. In Cod you are Alex Mason, you are Soap. In Halo you are the Master Chief. The first level always got me because of its dehumanizing effect of sorts. You aren’t supposed to survive, you aren’t meant to be anyone. You’re just a soldier that dies before you’re taken to the next. In the end you’re just a name and a set of years. It’s great story telling and really brings into perspective the amount of deaths experienced in the global conflicts, not just the WW1. Rest in peace to all those who laid down their lives for their homelands.

There is a multiplayer game mode in Battlefield 1 called Operations. Operations features real battles that have taken place such as the German Spring Offensive and the Meuse Argonne Offensive. The game mode even gives us a bit of insight into what the battle is about. If you could, it’d be pretty interesting to watch and hear you talk about the battles the Operations Game mode takes us. I enjoy your videos btw, keep it up!

What the steel on steel war story did was unique instead of just one soldier you play as multiple soldiers when you die and it’s shows there death date. If you are going to make a story with one character make it realistic by showing the audience what they have to go through to survive, the people they will lose and the horrors that they have to face, it s okay to show kind acts like rescuing wounded soldier weather be from your side or enemy side but that shouldn’t be the whole story. It should be a story about a regular person who has to go through horrors that should’ve and could’ve been avoided. Avanti Savoia did the ending right showing what effect the war will have to a person, but the story telling was over the top. Though mud and blood was descent but keep it a little realistic.

Something cool I'd like to add to this is the Unknown Soldier Tomb. If I'm not mistaken, it was created after WW1, and the war was one of the greatest reasor for it, since many soldiers who where killed in action never got recognized.

They will run out of bullets before we run out of people. That has always been the Russian strategy for war. You forgot to mention that in some battles, Germany captured 500,000 soviet POWs.

The Absence of Central Powers Viewpoints and Campaigns is one for the rare Ls this game took. It gives the impression that the Central Powers were the "bad guys" and the Entente the "good guys". Luckily they learned from this and introduced a German Campaign in Battlefield 5 but it would have suited WW1 better given that Germany was still a moderate constitutional country at the time being, similar to Britian, France etc. and thus not as controversial.
