Why are DPS allowed to just get away with ninja-pulling and nobody can say boo to them? Thanks for making this video homie. Really should have quit around the time you did but I wanted to have hope. It's really tiring to see every expansion reduce the difficult of fights and the nuance of the jobs. I've always been a casual player who just wants to perform well for their teammates out of respect for the time and effort they put in but every single expansion and major patch just makes me feel like the devs are disrespecting the time I put in more and more. Fuck the roulette players who can't understand why you were as frustrated as you were with the game.

When you mentioned that you were Rank 1, I thought "Ok this guy is good, I wonder what he has to offer." Just so you know, your tips seemed unique compared to other tank tips I have seen. The tip on waiting to regen between pulls, was a good one, because I was constantly moving on in between pulls. So due to tips like that, I stayed because I could tell you would have things of value to share. I'm sure maybe I could eventually find it on the balance at some point, but just expressing how I enjoyed the value you have contributed. Thank you. Sorry this is four years late.

I'm a new player to FFxiv, and I agree with you. I initially skipped story at the start, but my friends berated me. However I slowed down, and also due to another reason. I realized I can't actually rush it all in one go, if I could I would have already. So at this point I'm like fine, I'll slow down and view the story one time, after that I skip always. It REALLY sucks as a new player to FFXIV though, because your friends will probably be already at lv 100 with the story done, so it'll take ages where you can do content with them that you both will enjoy. On speed, I can agree to a compromise. But what would that be? Well, for others. Personally for me if you want to go fast I say go, I like the challenge. So I am learning how to tank, and also to heal. I have learned that saying *Hi I'm new!* as a healer causes most people to say *sure I'll go slow* and I let them but next time, I'm going to say nothing, let them pull big, and if I mess up, then I'll say... WHOOPS, I'm new btw *evil grin*... Also, going slow is coddling at the same time, and I realize, healer isn't as fun without some chaos. Otherwise it's like, a resource intensive chore without chaos. I mostly am learning it so I can understand tanking better. One thing I realized, is that FFxiv is not really alt friendly. Also, FFxiv asks me to complete ALL of the campaigns to be caught up. With WoW, I had to only complete the latest campaign.

The Creator really doesn't understand who pays CBU3's bills. Look at Ultimate participation rates since the existence of them and be amazed at how much effort they put into catering to a small audience. Dude, you're in the minority here. You make the very false assumption that everyone plays for the same reasons you do, and that couldn't be further from the truth. You're just peeved that an MMO with a wide spectrum of appeal isn't specifically catered to you. You think everyone is like you, but most people aren't. That they put as much effort as they do into high tier content is disproportionate to what the audience as whole cares about. If they wanted to serve the most people paying the monthly sub there'd be more housing districts, Doma, Garlemald, and Radz-at-han immediately spring to mind. If they actually cared about the people paying the bills there would have been an in-game hug before Urianger and Moenbryda's Mom. So many people do be here for the story and running the same duty on normal or hard over and over again. Man, I just picked up tanking because I like the armor aesthetics compared to DPS, but it sounds like it's just not worth it. You're not wall to wall pulling, why are you wall to wall pulling? You're going too fast, you're going too slow! It's a team effort, you have to let them dictate the pace, but you're the point of the wedge and it all falls on you! If someone runs ahead to pull, they're testing you and want you to grow, but they also think you're a numbnuts, lily livered chump and you've already earned a report. Good guide. I've played tank in other MMOs and 14 was a nice extension of it, till I hit wall to walls. They terrify me. With experience I should get better at it and learn the intricacies, but right now they terrify me, and as A lv 70 DRK Im at the point where I must learn them.

I’m with the you pull you tank people. It’s not about ego. It’s about respecting each other’s boundaries. Everyone has a pace they are comfortable with. Some tanks like big pulls but others get stressed out and will thus not have fun even if they are playing warrior. By pulling for them, you are stepping into their boundaries. A good way to do this would be to ask for permission and see if they are familiar with the dungeon and if they are ok with you pulling for them.

Lynx buddy, when I found your channel a few years back I was so stoked that XIV might be getting their equivalent of Preach when he was doing WoW content full time. The path you chose to take since then is just tragic.

I just found this video after starting FFXIV recently, and this is still an issue. I was told the main reason to play FFXIV was the MSQ by a FC member. I enjoy these games the same way you do, character progression, challenging myself, not for the story.
