Happy birthday.. Hope you get a spinning wheel, hmm that reminds me of David Clayton-Thomas... Good Idea and safe way to get use to carrying a gun by carrying it unloaded ... Finally, The ultimate Christmas Movie...

great find and fix,,, Home Alone

I always cut the wires different lengths so that the joints are staggered as in makes a less bulky join and then use a length of heat shrink tubing over the whole thing for extra protection and waterproofing. I'm always looking at boot markets (like your yard sales) sor old tools as they are generally better made than modern ones Home Alone
@MunkyWrench8 сағат бұрын
yeah I tend to use heat shrink myself these days. I wanted to make a simple as possible video for the 1st timer to see that a 1 quid roll of e tape can fix a 30 quid cable lol. I am glad you mentioned it so they know there's more than 1 way to skin a cat. good to see you bud

@@MunkyWrench Yep, Many youngsters seem to live in a throw away world and do need education that a little bit of work can save a fortune and will do wonders for their self esteem to know that they repaired it 🙂

As I am watching this video I want to ask you a question on that starter, just below the gear is a metal plate, is supposed to be loose?
@MunkyWrench10 сағат бұрын
in most cases yes it is. it is often a removable washer designed to be able to remove the guts from the housing so being loose is in most cases supposed to happen. I always say check your specific manufacturer . Thanks for taking the time to comment I am always here to answer questions and please subscribe while your here it really helps
@ernestodiaz41069 сағат бұрын
@ but when you connected the wires for testing that plate didn’t move at all my starter you can move it with your fingers or shake it
@MunkyWrench9 сағат бұрын
@@ernestodiaz4106 sorry that video was 3 years ago I had to go back and watch it .. do you mean the top of the starter body? as in not the gears or the part that spins to start the motor but the actual shell of the starter? no that should not spin or move at all. I have seen them rust or get damaged and if the actual shell of the starter has broken free.. its a paperweight. for the every day owner. in some cases you can weld it back together but considering a starter is 50 to 60 bucks these days I would buy a new one
@ernestodiaz41069 сағат бұрын
@@MunkyWrench no , it’s a square plate just below the gear above the body
