What’s wild is my interceptor CT Gen III has the same play on the button as yours and my OCD cannot stand it… I picked up a Tanto CT Gen III and there is zero play in the button and was 200 less… as much as I love the blade and the “lore” behind it never being released outside custom work I can’t live with it… returning it tomorrow and it pains me to because it looks so amazing but for 675 I should not have button wiggle when my 450 knife is literally perfect and feels more solid(I know the lightning cuts in the interceptor make it lighter but that makes it feel a little less like “money” and for the “money” I’m gonna stick with the Tanto.

Just for anyone stumbling upon this video, this wasn’t really a review. Not worth watching.

It hasn't been discontinued. It's one of their most popular models (if not THE) and they just sold out of another large drop, including a version with a new blade type - American tanto. They will make more. However, they do remove the listings from their site in between drops. I think that for $118, it is absolutely great, if not amazing. In some ways, it's higher quality than most $300+ US OTFs, including a higher-grade aluminum (7075/T6) body and a double set of locking gates, making the lockup exceptionally strong. BTW, the glass breaker is made with properly hardened steel and will absolutely do the job. Check out MaxAce's torture test video where they hammer the knife into a piece of wood, baton it and other ridiculous stuff. Repeatedly whacking the glass breaker with a hammer didn’t even mar it, not to mention deform. People have also taken the knife apart and discovered that the internals are very well made with no shortcuts, including a milled, properly hardened steel components. Yes. The switch just "does the job" and can't compete with the silky-smooth switches on GTs or the new Microtechs (like CT Gen III). However, it does do the job just fine, is way better than the thumb-ripping "goodness" of my classic Ultratech and is not as stiff as my Gen 2 CT. It doesn't hurt my thumb at all. By the way, the Ultem and Mini versions (Uranus) have wider, easier to activate switches and I'm thinking that the AL Neptune will also be equipped with those in the near future. As far as the blade throw action, it feels very strong and generally great, with a satisfying sound and amount of recoil. I totally disagree about the handle design, ergonomics and practicality. I love that it goes for minimalism and doesn’t have multiple curves forcing you into specific positions on the grip and IMO, it’s one of the best feelings OTFs I’ve tried... just fits my hand very well. I also definitely can get a death grip on it. Just did your little test and the knife didn’t even begin to budge. Then again, people have told me before that I have “r-tard strength” hands and fingers. 😊 Now, the pocket clip is indeed junk and cheapens the feel of the whole knife. I recently just went ahead and removed the clips off all my Neptunes (I own one of each blade type) and it really improved the feel. They carry very well on the bottom of the pocket anyhow. Also, out of my four AL Neptunes, all of which have been broken in and carried, not a single failure to deploy or retract, ever! My Microtechs experienced multiple failures, especially at first, and my Heretics had one or two here and there. Not the Neptunes!

Well thank you for this video and heads up my dude, I have the Captains, President and Hero Boots, was looking to add a pair of Cavaliers but then watched your video. Yikes is all I can really say. I notice they don’t seem to push this boot as much as the others, and literally everything on their website has a 4.9 rating 🤔

I actually prefer a MUCH heavier spring in my OTF knives... so much that average thumb strength can't fire it. Makes it child safe.

The fact that it's "just okay" in cutting and slicing. The fact that fit and finish for a $2000 is unacceptable. The fact that the pocket clip and handle is a hot spot. The fact that it's $2000..... Garbage. I pray Medford goes out of business. He has made enough money off this garbage. Just my opinion. This knife no matter what material it is made out of, should cost no more than $200 not $2000. With that said, its a great looking knife but not $2000 worth. It is a gas station novelty knife.

Ok I have in my collection GS 10-12 pairs boots and the pair your reviewing looks like a B grade pair or seconds I have few seconds from them and this pair your showing are b grade and the sole that GS use on Field boots are not made from Vibram sole co they are GS own wedge soles and they tougher then Vibram Christi's having work both GS is hard sole and leather patch won't fail in my boot collects PNW to grant stone 31 pairs and Grant stones are build really well !!

I own the RAGNAROK, SHRIKE & 😢LOGGERHEAD and I’d have to say the LOGGERHEAD is my favorite due to how light it is and the DUAL functionality in the head-(chop & hammer)….the fact I almost took my face out when pulling back with the spike on the rear-end of the SHRIKE made me question my life choices 😮😅…I ABSOLUTELY LOVE RMJ and the SHRIKE is a pure hardcore-metal death slaughter device..the RAGNAROK is the most gorgeous (BAWIDAMANN 🤘!)..but the LOGGERHEAD for me is the most functional and makes the most sense for 99% of applications and environments. bout time someone did an updated video on the SHRIKE…it is truly the coming together of art and carnage.

Respectfully, Microtech's manufacturing is at peak -- they DO NOT have the means to meet demand right now. Also, the bulk of the profits go back to MTEK USA which they use to support their American workers. This knife is really nice, personally not for me, but high quality for the price.

Get a Socom elite, made in the usa, big, good looking. Just one of the best knives ever made, imo. I own a bunch, and I don’t like your government, especially the coming one. Always reminds me of that Untouchables scene, I think you know which one I mean. Too bad you’ve got such big hands, the riff raff and the high fin are excellent knives.
