Oh I'm always careful when it comes to lever work, it's a balancing act with very little margin for error but damn the results are incredible and I highly highly recommend you give it a shot man, it's fun, gives you a crazy workout and the functional strength you get especially on the mat if you train is insane.

How do you even work out with this? Do you swing it like a bat? Juggle it like a bowling pin? Lug it around one handed caveman style? I’m 5’7 130lbs so this will never enter my sphere of existence but I can’t even fathom just how one would use something like this… (still want one though)

So with something this large and heavy i primarily do two handed shield casts and rotational work as well as also adding it to some cardio and plyometric work routines to ratchet up the intensity. If you are curious about how all of this works though I highly recommend checking out either the flying Dutchman Channel or Wildman athletica because they really dive into the mechanics of how it all works but I highly recommend everyone get into this form of training as an add on and not a replacement to your preexisting fitness routine because it's absolutely amazing. My only advice is to start off light, 10lbs at maximum until you really get the movements down because working out with levers is amazing but it's all about control and the moment you lose that control it's going to go bad.

You review the most interesting shit, man. Things I have zero interest in- and yet I sit here watching, enraptured. I love it. Also, fuck Greg Medford.

Life is short so try something new whenever you can is a philosophy I live by and it's served me very well. Also you should definitely give it a try man, you might end up falling in love with this type of training like I did, just start off with a light weight until you get the movements down, 20lbs with a dumbell is nothing but 20lbs with a Mace or club is enough to put you in the hospital if you don't know what you are doing.
