Hey Cody, as I said before, that muscle between your ears is one of your best! I saw this video today (in the link) and immediately thought of your contemplative, introspective and philosophical mindset. I think it goes a long way to describing why we do what we do...why we climb mountains, run marathons, lift weights and train marital arts. I also think it's content will go some way to fueling the narration of one of your future videos...if it hasn't already. Hope you enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3-sqWZ9mL6bZ8ksi=UxbVw8APOIicfZMP

It was similar with calf muscles and running/cycling for me. „Running doesn’t really grow your calves“ is so easily said with such a confidence, that many will blindly believe it. Guess what, since I started running my calves finally have some mass and actual definition now. Who would’ve thought? And I am absolutely a chicken leg type btw

I like to have a day of heavy low rep strongman work and slow bodyweight for muscle mechanical tension and the next day for lightweight high rep explosives for neural muscular adaptations. Rest days i give to isometrics, rucking and skills such as yoga, climbing and marksmanship. It hits almost every angle of fitness and I love it.

I am on path one at this time. I am sure i will try other strength training programs when i am happy with my results. my goal is to be as strong as i can be so i can protect myself and my family if the need arises. I do see your point about getting obsessed with the sport. i could spend my time on the net watching cat video, porn, news, geopolitics , endless shows and movie and God knows what else. if i am going to do the things above anyway, might as well looking the sport i love. which is to find ways to train. that's how i found your channel. thanks for the video.

I have no idea what I’m talking about but This is my dumb bro science head cannon. What if because you’re doing pull ups, your muscles are getting bigger and stronger, the bigger you get the more weight you need to pull up, which causes your muscles to get even bigger. Creating a cycle of pull up gains.

Theres an abandoned coal mine i hike to a couple times a year, takes about an hour to get up, near 45° slope, heavily forested. Every time i go though, i grab about 80lbs of coal for my backpack, for use in the forge. Ive been getting better and better at it, and have a carved out path up to the minesite

At work I tend to discard these used bags that weigh up to 80lbs. So I am looking to buy a weighted bag that is 75lbs. I want to build up more strength and make my job a little easier. But ir's time to up my weight anyway. Been doing home wormouts for 9 months consistentlyz twice a week. Time for heavier weights anyway.

I did weighted walking for two years dauring my time in the military. We had heavy backpacks, heavy weapons, supplies or dummys etc. And let me tell you something, I don't want to do this shit for at least the next two years anymore. But yeah great way to excercise and add some occasionall runs with heavy load and you even get better at running. Also a great way for burning calories.

Unfortunately many jobs micromanage out the freedom necessary to make the necessary adjustments to your form. Meaning at best you're not varying the intensity and you're always working the same muscles but more realistically you're overdoing it with some which will lead to artificial aging. Ultimately making all future gains more difficult. Plus squatting in slacks is an awful experience especially you have a bit of a belly like me.
@thestonecircle7 сағат бұрын
I've heard that, seems like it'd be pretty tough to get any kind of progressive overload too. I feel that about the slacks haha

Just read the other comments and realized I'm a bit late to point that out, but still: 200lb bear hug lunges are something you don't see every day! Brutal! I'll start practising those myself next week, but with my new 165lb sandbag first.

It was surprisingly tough haha. I'd like to get to the point where I can do it without resting the sandbag on my front leg at the bottom. Doing it this way felt a lot like a getup (which is cool too!) Excited to see you work with it 🙂
@creativetraininghacks16 сағат бұрын
@@thestonecircle You will soon. Thanks for pointing out the difference between having the sandbag rest on the front leg and keeping it in the air instead. With my lighter sandbag I will try the latter, of course.

Been doing kettlebells for a while and doing clean and press but I’m gonna start working on sandbags and doing shoulders squats and carries to go along with my pull ups and dips. Do you do any overhead pressing with lighter bags? I feel like if I totally move to sandbags I’d be missing the overhead press.
@micahnord174720 сағат бұрын
Just dont totally move to sandbags. Do ohp with kettlebells
@thestonecircle17 сағат бұрын
Hey awesome good luck! I personally get most of my vertical pressing in the firm if pike pushup variations, but I think pressing sandbags is great too! Or keep the kettlebell press stuff like Micah said, I think that'd be a cool combo
@Ajas081013 сағат бұрын
@@thestonecircle ok thanks. I’m outgrowing my kettlebells and was wanting to start with sandbags. Plus kettlebells destroy my hands. I guess I was curious if you press sandbags much I just don’t see you do that.

When I started rock climbing at my local gym I quickly learned it was never a focus on certain muscles. Everything hurt at first but then everything got stronger. Huge reason i fell in love with it. also to add there was some old bodybuilder who insisted on a singular rep till failure as the most effective muscle mass yadda yadda. so note that

I am happy to see a trend happening where people are stopping the course of thought that you need a PhD in exercise routines to get strong and look good. Eat food. Be disciplined to your goal in mind. Exercise in the way you find the most enjoyable. For me it's calisthenics. I don't dread workouts anymorr because I actually enjoy the workout now.

Abs will definitely help! Learning the valsalva maneuver and practicing it a lot with light weights before doing anything heavy usually helps. If it hurts I'd get it checked out though, shouldn't be any pain!
