At 11:40 in your video when I click "ok" I get the message "unable to reconform timeline. the source media clips in the selected bins are not able to conform to the timeline." So not sure how to solve this. The funny thing is. It worked once before.

Cat 7 for a few meters is way overkill... you don't even need CAT6 for 10GbE.... Even CAT5 (!!) will give you the full 10Gb under 50 meters.

This is driving my crazy... I use my atem mini iso extreme with my blackmagic CP 6K and a SSD (high speed). When I record multiple camera sources, the files are 6mb/s bitrate or less! (both the program file and the individual files). I have tried everything: to change the SSD and the cable, to change the HDMI cables, to change the format (from hyperdeck high as default one to all the rest), to reboot the hardware and update the software... Still, I can't get a good quality in my files. Any clue??

@@gisteproducciones when your testing, is there any movement in your shots? BM encodes VBR so if your shots are static without much movement it will naturally have a love bitrate. That’s the only thing I can think of that comes to mind right now. If it’s noticeably poor quality, then you may have a faulty unit that needs replacement

Which format did you find works best for you when recording the ISO files to the SSD?. macOS (Journaled) or exFAT. I wish blackmagic would integrate some kind of format feature in their mini line-up next iteration, or even now they can do it by adding some type of feature like this to the software controller somehow. Instead of always having to unplug the SSD from the ATEM device to format it on computer because this is the only option as of now. If something happens during recording a live event for instance if the drive just stops recording for some reason which I had happen to me several times and the ATEM will not let you press record again after an issue unless you unplug and format the drive which can get pretty annoying.

Lucid link sometimes is very slow. Doesn’t make sense to advertise it as “fast” even though it has issues, right?

The speeds of Lucid is usually dependant on your internet services upload/download speed. So it’s not that Lucid is slow, it more than your internet service is the bottleneck. Hope this makes sense :)

after i bought this thing, I set it up and tried to use it but my atem software control app kept crashing on my Mac studio m1. I haven't used it since, is there a way I can use this without it crashing the atem software control app?

@@AlexPettittI forget but it was right after I bought it, when it came out, I had to reinstall the old software to prevent the crashing so I haven’t been using it. I want to start using it again but I don’t want everything to crash all the time

Nice editing on the T bar part by taking out the non responding part by staying on the T bar - this device is just wasting your money - with all respect this is not an honest review at all

Happy to send you the original footage so you can see it was responding fully throughout with no latency, lag or any other issues 👍 It has worked flawless for me 100% of the time so far in all testing and productions.

Not tested that model specifically, but it should work with any model that uses ATEM Software Control… so I believe it will work for the primal TVS yes 👍

Has anyone created a macro that can do this all automatically? the folder structure of ATEM records is going to be the same and so will the file formats/ audio settings so why not?

From the panel itself there isn’t a dedicated record button, but you could setup a macro that starts / stops recording and then trigger that using the Macro row on the panel :)

I love the ATEM Mini series, but if I could buy this micro panel just to avoid using the ATEM Mini's buttons to cut or auto a transition, I would purchase it for that feature alone..

Blackmagic always does things by halves: why didn't they include the standard T-Bar in the ATEMMicroPanel? It is possible to make the replacement considering that they sell the standard T-bar separately. Thanks

I think it probably come down to form factor, the normal T-Bar would have stuck out quite a bit on this small device, making it hard to just thrown in a bag and transport. That's my thinking anyways :)

I can configure all the aspects of the Atem mini with Bitfocus Companion and StreamDeck XL except the Fairlight Dynamics. Anything else I have access to at the Push of the button. I have integrated Behringer X-TOUCH compact and I have a full physical Realtime Audio Control of the FaderGain. All the input Gains I am setting them from the StreamDeck. You can do 1000 more options with the StreamDeck. This is limited. It has its use case in the field.

I agree. As for a physical T-Bar - I have never needed to touch one... why would anyone think they can do a transition better than a auto transition?

I think this panel would work well with atem minies in a live setting where you are doing a lot of transition on the fly and don't really want to go from a panel to a mouse to laptop back to a mouse You could do the camera selecting on an atem mini extreme, then do the transition on micro panel A couple of things I would like is macros lock, so if using it like suggested, you can lock into macros permanently then turn it back when you want to also the available to be able to power it through the atem minis usb so if your using just for set-ups you can recharge it during the show and use Bluetooth to connect it to software and ethernet to connect the atem mini

It doesn't actually work with the larger switchers unless connected to a computer through the control software.

Yes correct, as clearly stated in the video, this works with all ATEM’s and requires you to be running ATEM Software Control.

@ Yeah it's just confounding because it's essentially an overpriced usb keyboard. I wish they'd put out an Ethernet enabled one, which would 1. Justify the price and 2. Be infinitely more useful, for example as an extra M/E or assistant switcher. I run a Constellation and the 4 M/E panel and it would be awesome to add these in. 😉

I haven’t tested it personally with an older 2M/E but it absolutely should do, as effects the Micro Panel is taking to ATEM Software Control, so as long as you have that running on your computer, it should work fine with your 2ME

It can be customised even further, when used with Bitfocus Companion. I've already touched on that subject. But yes, it really is mostly for those with rackmounted Atems.

Yeah, I thought about including in this video how to use it as a Surface in Bitfocus Companion but decided against it as personally I feel right now that the experience is clunky (especially having to create a 4 x 20 something canvas). Didn’t want to confuse people by going into it.. but agreed, for people who are happy to tinker around and spend a bit of extra time customising then it can absolutely be made to be more flexible :)

I’d forgotten this existed! I’m a big stream deck/companion user too, but I know that if I’m catering for another director, they’d much rather have a “standard” Blackmagic panel to work with. This would be a nice middle ground between a Stream Deck and a panel that costs double what the switcher does…!

Exactly that and I totally agree, this is where the Micro Panel can really shine. I have so many clients and directors who aren't a fan of using a Stream Deck to cut cameras, so to be able to give them this (at it's affordable cost) for cutting, and then having a Stream Deck along side for everything else is a winning combination :) Glad you found the video helpful :)

Ideally functionally a streamdeck with a small preview screen of the inputs over WiFi but integrated with Blackmagic for a more streamlined quick setup.

It looks like a great piece of kit! I don't like that macros selection are on the program line, i would like it to be on the preview line for extra safety. it does light up blue so its no big deal. I also agree with the wifi and ethernet suggestions. great video, i look forward to watching more

Great vid showing the power of macros. I do have a question...Within the ATEM Software Control, is it possible to record a macro that changes an Outputs setting? For example, Program starts for a configured output, say Output1. With the macro enabled, I would like to change the configured output for Output1 to Input5 (instead of the Program output). Is this achievable with a macro?

Wich SSD is best for us😂ing with Atem pro iso with 4 camera’s I got many problems with SanDisk 1 and 2Tb who stoppen recording when they turned hot I used afterwards cruciaal SSD who stayer cool but was nog so cast as they mentioned in the manual. Can you help.me out please

My go to drive at the moment are the Crucial X9 Pro's. They seem to perform a lot better than the X6's in terms of speed and consistency. Hope this helps
