Yes. I do. But having watched what you do with yours, I realise how underused mine is and how limited my knowledge and skillset is. You have inspired me to spend more time with mine and to treat "her" better as she can do a lot more than I even imagined :)

I do and love it. Record on my ATEM all the time and use the speed editor like you do. I wish you could cut live though, be amazing if those camera buttons could act as cut buttons like on the ATEM!

Thanks for yet another very informative and detailed video! You have no idea just how much your videos helps us. Is there any chance you may think about creating a separate video on setting up a overhead camera system set up for the top down view of the desk like you have? I have seen so many products for full ceiling mounts but they cost thousands and wondered if there was other options or what you use in your set up. Thanks again and keep up the great work on your videos

Thanks Colin, really glad to hear the video was helpful! And yes I totally love your idea for a video about top down shots. I’ll add it to my list of videos! I’ve just completed a few new overhead rigs so this is perfect timing 👍

Great video thanks. There's no clutch on the wheel. A wide elastic band around the base of the jog wheel creates just enough drag to stop it from spinning freely when released. A necessary bodge.

I have an ATM mini extreme. Two of them. I was starting to think it was almost obsolete and now it is out of the bag waiting to be hooked into the edit controller. I am glad edit control “console” is back. I miss them from analog days.

Greet stuff, as always. The Live Overwrite in particular is definitely a much needed feature and your demonstration makes me want it ASAP just for that one feature. As a FCPX user learning DaVinci for the first time, I wish they managed Multi-Cam the way FCPX does it, which is to either play it through in the Multi-Cam screen and tap the number when you want to change views, or to right-mouse on a segment and simply change the active view. Putting a new clip on top seems so counter intuitive to me, compared to just changing the active view, regardless of whether you use in/out or the Speed Editor. As I explore the way ATEM ISO generates files, generating one version with all the edits already baked in, so I understand part of their reason; it just overlays the alternative angle on top, but it would be great if the multi-cam timeline was one layer like FCPX with each segment having its own active audio and video selection.
@AlexPettitt Жыл бұрын
This is my biggest ask for them too Joe! I wish it created a traditional multicam clip. Luckily I have found a way to convert an ISO file to a multi-cam clip, and I’m hoping to do a video tutorial on this next year :)

Thanks for another great video. I wish you could vision mix in post. I can do it in Premiere, but I no longer use premiere. Essentially you have a multicam clip, and then you can literally just press 1,2,3,4 just as you would on an ATEM to both cut and switch camera angles simultaneously as you're watching the playback. It's fantastic for podcasts and music videos. Especially if you don't have someone to do live switching on a podcast. It'd be even better on the speed editor. I far prefer it over painting on another angle.
@AlexPettitt Жыл бұрын
This has been my biggest feedback to BM too, and I completely agree with you. I have found a way to do it, but it’s a bit of a work around. I’ll try to create a video at some point explaining how :)

Yes please @AlexPettitt , would love to hear your work around. I'm working on an assignment with this scenario right now. I want to like Resolve but in Premiere I could do this so much easier. It seems like it should be possible. Best I can figure is making a multi-cam timeline with the original media. That gains back some functionality but is basically starting over. I'd want to be able to continue on the track that the ATEM Pro ISO made with the live camera switches and just clean up the cuts I want. Rolling the cut point is great but choosing a different angle gets annoying even with the "painting on" feature. Should be as easy as a right click or double press of the camera number. Painting On could be good for live action but for podcasts and talkshows where you need to hear the audio, it just doesn't make sense to use.

Great video, great features! ... if it wasn't for the order of the CAM keys 1...9 being exactly the opposite of the camera previews in Resolve. Is there maybe a way to change the arrangement?

I don't have the speed editor ,but I always figured that if I needed the full version of davinci resolve , I'd go ahead and buy the editor,and get a license with it, it's pretty close to the same price, plus you get the editor
@Jason-mk3nn Жыл бұрын
I miss the feature in the old Final Cut Studio where you could just switch the camera, and it would change the angle without the overwrite. Not a huge deal, but nice when trying to make a cleaner timeline.

Hey, Alex, what’s up? I see your videos a lot, and has helped me a lot, congratulations for the work. I have a question about the ATEM MINI PRO ISO. Is it possible to write the separate files directly to Macbook? Or is there any way to connect Macbook to ATEM’s usbc, an ssd on Macbook and have the files written to the ssd? Thank you very much

When I first got my ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, the DR project file included a sync bin. The sync bin is no longer included in the DR project file. SI there a settling in DR that I missed, did BMD move that function to the paid version, or do I have to create the sync bin manually now?
@AlexPettitt Жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, it’s still very much included. The sync bin is a feature embedded in DaVinci the software and not based on the project itself. You should fine it in the cut page of DaVinci even when not using an ATEM ISO project. Let me know if this helps, or if you’re able to offer any more info about the issue you see and I’ll try to do some testing my end :)
@the001oneproductions Жыл бұрын
How's your Sync Bin playback so smooth? With the free version of DaVinci I can't get an 8-camera multicam project to start playing properly. The CPU ramps up to 100% but after a couple of frames the playback freezes and I can barely move the playhead
