Is it better than glutathione.

Works differently. To boost glutathione, NAC + glycine is better because glutathione needs to be broken down and does not cross blood-brain barrier. Or Intravenous glutathione. I like NAC + + glycine + melatonin :)

Hi inka. My L theanine supplement is 200mg and it says to take once a day. Is it ok to take it twice a day that will be 400mg? Or should I stick with the manufacture dosage recommended? If it's ok to take 2 pills can I take it at one go or should I take it twice a day? Tq

Interesting. Regarding impulse control/cravings, some people taking Tirzepatide reported decreased cravings and preoccupation with food ("food noise"). I wonder if the drug affects the frontal lobe? This is why I subscribed to you (along with seeing your video collaboration with Siim, who I've been subbed to for years!) Thank you so much!

Thankyou for this information. I am a whole plant based aging athlete. I have learnt from experience that I need to have at least the RDI for sodium (2000mg). Otherwise my running is sluggish, I get light headed when standing and brain fog. Another factor that seems to be missed is that the RDI for chloride of 3000mg. My doctor asked me did the colour of beetroot go through to my poo. I said yes. He said I didn’t have enough stomach acid. Upping my salt intake fixed this too.

Upregulate your baseline dopamine with exercise, protein, cutting sugar, intermittent fasting, and cold showers - it increases your drive to do stuff and reduces cortisol so you can work for longer without feeling stressed or tired

Which enzymes activate these two neurotransmitters? Can you just name the category 1 to 6? (I mean oxidoredox, transfer, hydrox etc. I am curious because complex psychological things like motivation, memory issues etc need more than just small molecules like Sertn and Dopa.
@iaminkaland
@iaminkaland 15 күн бұрын
For both dopamine and serotonin, the enzymes involved fall under the oxidoreductase, lyases, and transferase categories, with specific enzymes for each neurotransmitter. Dopamine --> Tyrosine hydroxylase (hydroxylase - oxidoreductase) converts tyrosine to L-dopa --> DOPA decarboxylase (decarboxylase - lyase category) converts L-DOPA into dopamine. Serotonin --> Tryptophan hydroxylase (hydroxylase - oxidoreductase) converts tryptophan to 5-HTP --> Aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (decarboxylase - lyase category) converts 5-HTP to serotonin Both neurotransmitters are broken down by monoamine oxidase (MAO), an enzyme in the oxidoreductase category

Considering that L-tyrosine is instrumental in the production of dopamine, it makes sense now that when I supplement with 500mg L-tyrosine and vitamin B6, my focus and social energy levels increase. Note: I typically only take supplemental L-tyrosine on the rare days where I am required to be at my peak performance (work related). Thank you for this video, it clairfied several questions I had regarding these 2 neurotransmitters.

One thing that I noticed in regards to telling my co-workers/friends about my use of L-Tyrosine... several of them are Hispanic and the "L-" was confusing them. A few of us went out to dinner one evening and one of them said they couldn't find the supplement. Turns out, she was looking for El Tyrosine! I explained that the L was referring to the left-handed version of the molecule... so it was the letter L. That led to a humorous discussion about how I made a similar mistake when I moved to the Southern United States from my homeland of Canada. One of my co-workers shouted "Ole'!" about something, and I naturally thought he had shouted "Au Lait!" (With milk!!). I found it rather confusing. I thought that maybe Hispanic people really have a thing for dairy?!? This was because my mind was still processing in French Canadian. It has been an inside joke for some time now 😅 Cafe' Ole'!!

Eat raw beef liver, 2 times per week, grass fed. Eating empty carbs, alcohol, and vegetable oils lowers the absorption of b12. Animal base diet is the best. Who is dumb enough to become a vegan and take pills?

I tried NAC and I threw up one, then I tried another one that gave me major jaw pain. So, what brand? It was the only thing that really worked to make me stop picking my lips. When I can go a whole day without picking, it's a miracle. I hate myself for picking my lips.

Did you check the supplement for fillers? Sometimes fillers cause stomach pain. NAC can also cause nausea if you take it in empty stomach. Try eating together with food or 30 min before or take before bed.

I experienced tingly fingers and a tingly tongue after several years of very low animal product intake. Vitamin B-12 supplementation resolved the issue (1000 mcg of cyanocobalamin a few times per week). I get my B-12 levels checked regularly now and they come back at about 350 pg/ml and I now have no symptoms.

Thanks for sharing on this topic! I appreciate your excellent science communication videos. As a vegan I buy fortified Nutritional Yeast (Bobs Redmill) and sprinkle it on oatmeal and pasta/rice dishes, as otherwise they inject B-12 into the animals feed in animal ag. Regarding the B-complex of vitamins, like you said you need the entire B-complex for it to be effective, I recently read that store bought mushrooms are a great source of Vitamin B5, and many Italians get a lot in their diet because of cultural dishes/recipes that include it, helping to protect against cellular aging as well. I had read something else interesting, that decades ago, before the Green Revolution with chemical fertilizers and industrial tilling of the soil, we used to have healthier mycelium networks in the fields, and because of this we used to get better access to some B vitamins in vegetables. Some times with progress it's one step forward and two steps back. Keep up the great work!
