I had so much fun patching the audio from the sampler into my external audio patch point of my Moog DFAM. I think they make a great pairing.

why no mention of neither Iannis Xenakis nor Barry Truax nor David Gabor, the people who respectively proposed the idea of this category of synthesis, realized it in the context of real-time composition, and most importantly provided the neurological and psychoacoustic basis for the definition of a "quantum of sound"? (cursory definition by Curtis Roads appreciated, but does not provide much context for how and why the concept was conceived and implemented, let alone what makes it unique to our perception of non-discrete acoustic events, Signals, and Sound Objects. to draw an analogy, I wouldn't presume to explain quantum mechanics to anyone without first describing subatomic particles and how their discovery and investigation lead to significant developments in our understanding of the nature of reality, instead just glossing over the relevant foundational understanding by saying "there are these really tiny things - even smaller than an atom - that you can't even see but you can make inferences by observing their interaction, but like...they mess with Space-Time and other cool stuff." maybe it would be easier to just edit the title of the scroll to read "Explanation of a couple Granular Synthesis eurorack modules."

i like your volume balance. a lot of music making channels have their music way up so it sounds more big and impressive and probably so you can hear the details, but i just feel fatigued at the end of those videos and don't want to work on my own music anymore.

Gregg is Aither sending to the iOS device over wifi or is there a physical connection I'm missing? Interesting and good reminder of the 'surface' options for modular. It reminds me of MobMuPlat for controlling Pure Data patches through custom GUI that can be done with the app. New to your channel though I subscribed a while back through seeing you on Sam's LMNC. Anyhow I will catch up on your content!

It is nice to get a simple explanation, that can help you understand the things that everyone else is jumping over. Thank you. I stated with the Grainstorm App. It would be fantastic if you explained the basic concepts using that.

1:56 Yes!!! Finally! The deeper I dive into the world of modular synths, the more I am convinced that I am the equivalent of a caveman when it comes to working with audio equipment... I have been looking for a guide/tutorial on how to hookup a modular synth to a speaker for AGES now! There's plenty of tutorials on hooking up to a DAW but none on simply connecting to a speaker. Is it possible to connect to a speaker with just the 3.5mm - 1/4 cable if one of my modules has an output or do I need to buy a module for it like the Micro Jack? Thanks a bunch!

I read somewhere that there is a voltage drop on this module that prevents it from being used with direct v/oct signals. Here you have the quantizer after the synapse, so it wouldn’t matter. Has anyone ever used this with multiple v/ oct signals directly going into the Synapse inputs then out to different oscillators? So that you could use it to switch the pre quantized melodys to different modules
