We just need so so much more of this. Imagine if science/development never turned away from human power in favor of various fuels. Progress would be slower but what kind advancements would have possibly been made? We could be living in a world where everything is just powered by our own movement...

Exceptional energy efficient transportation technology developed that the stupid greedy ignorant automakers need to adapt into mass manufactured vehicles, velomobile, scooter, bike, motorcycle, car, SUV, truck, bus, automobiles or passenger vehicles that are aerodynamic like the Aptera solar electric //

Still trying to find a vid that details the steering limits. W/ the 93T main chainring overlapping the wheel it looks like only a few degrees of steering in either direction. So they start straight and better keep it straight because if you veer too much there is no room for recovery. Great piece of work and great results.

This is very cool. And even if such a bike is unuseable in the traffic and daily life it shows the possible improvements of cycle efficiency by an aerodynamic design. Even twice the air resistance of this bike is far less than with a standard time trial bike and would probably be fully useable for daily use. I think that is what the velomobil has. Just a note: at 3:10 the tire definitely protrudes much more than 4mm, closer to 10-15mm.

Sideways it might very well be 4mm from the opening at the narrowest.

The part that seems most like magic is the way they transported the power from the crank all the way out to the rotors using nothing more than string.

Tod works out like crazy. Im not sure how fast of a sprinter he is but he definitely has very strong legs and great endurance. I just watched a documentary about man powered flight and he helped design and piloted the plane. Very interesting documentary. If you are interested in watching it just let me know and I'll drop the link ✌️

The most obvious conclusion upon viewing this video is that birds are truly remarkable creatures. Picture the body of a bird in place of the bicyclist in this video and note the huge surface area taken up by the four rotors. That there is the proof. Even when you consider non-dimensional parameters. For instance, a hummingbird is exceedingly smaller than a human. But aren't there even very large birds that can fly vertically upwards for periods much longer than a minute? And of course this is a helicopter, not a rigid wing aircraft like the one McCready built and which was successfully flown by its human power plant across the English Channel. My advice is, Humans: don't even think about human powered helicopters/drones. You can be much better rewarded by focusing on human powered fixed wing aircraft.

⚠️ God has said in the Quran: 🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 ) 🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 ) 🔵 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 ) 🔴 But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 ) 🔵 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 ) ⚠️ Quran

This was actually very interesting! Would it make any sense to design a streamlined shape with a hole/canal going throug it from tip to tail? Sort of like an elongated donut. In order to avoid the stationary air cushions building up in front and behind the shape? (Given the fact that you don´t have to pierce this canal through the body of a rider sitting inside ...) Or it it just an error in reasoning becaus you would than have all the friction just on the inside? respectively you replace one tip by a new "tip" in a circular shape ...
@victorragusila7519
@victorragusila7519 2 жыл бұрын
possible...but yea, any area in contact with the air provides skin friction, and would be bad. Generally, if you have a big opening in your shape with a pipe going thru the interior, you could have made the whole thing smaller, and get rid some of skin friction. The high pressure areas in the front and low pressure in the back would now be a ring, instead of a circle. Somewhere the air has to be stationary.
