When you come to a corner, use the two prong stitching chisel by hand to mark the position of the holes until you reach the straight then continue punching with the 5 or more prong stitching chisel in the chuck, then swap to the two prong chisel to go back and punch the corners or curves.

Nice! I pretty much designed this same wallet nearly 20 years ago and lined it with pig skin. It has been in my pocket ever since and is still in great shape! I love the minimalistic nature of it and even shared it with Boy Scouts when I was a scoutmaster.

Thank you very much for the great template and tutorial! If you ever start selling the leather and tools for these projects, I will gladly purchase from you.

I probably would make a rolled cushioned handle for each strap. They provide more comfort, and you can still use thin leather for heavier bags.

I use mine for snaps, rivits, grommets, and eyelets. It's better than the mallet method. I find it great for punching holes in belts or anything with many holes.. It also works great for leather projects that are thick and need a hole or holes. Best $110 bucks I have spent in a while.

Hi. The leather you use seems stiff and holds the edge, how do you stiffen such thin leather to use for this?

I used 50% rubbing alcohol mixed with instant coffee. Then I used tokonole to seal it. Wondering if I will get rub off, or if it will be damaging to a shofar (ram's horn) strap that I'm making.

Sir Cutting measurements in pdf please
@QnA22Ай бұрын
Love the video. Only thing I don't get is how you say to measure it very precise.... then to use inches instead of centimeters. So much so, that you have to account for the imprecise measurements inches give you and start adding arbitrary inches to compensate for the imprecise measurements which has to be exact. 😂 Just get a rope and do a quick guess and add a bit to it instead of all the time consuming and inaccurate measurements.

Would this pattern still work if my accent color pieces were thinner/more flexible?

I seem to end up one hole short at each radius. This makes stitching difficult due the holes not lining up.

the journal turned out so beautiful, I've watched hundreds of diy's over the years and this is by far the best, it's simple and actually shows every step and doesn't do a thousand cuts so things are missed, thank you for this, it'll help a lot.

If this is vinyl tape you shouldn't use on laser engraver/cutter. It gives off very toxic fumes that can also "gum up" you laser
