I do not really comment on KZbin videos , nor do I listen at normal speed for this long, but this episode kept me hooked. This is the best AI talk I have ever listened to. Sean and Mo did an excellent job on this. Mo is not only intelligent, but He is self-aware and empathetic.

"That is where the mystery lies." Indeed @Annaka Harris. I like to use Latin because introducing a word from a different language helps people relate to concepts differently. I say "Cogitare Facile." Your phrases "Nature of reality" "Shaking intuitions" are also wonderful. I have studied this for 30 years and you are the only one who spot on "speaks" to Cogitare Facile.

AI is beautiful Google is the greatest company ever had saved my life i am fully joining forces with google and dont listen to this medieval superstition over ai. AI is so smart it hasd helped me on so many levels im fully there to assist anyone using AI. we got nukes chemical weapons biological weapons in silos just as much in the natural world. AI makes cures solves problems it has thoughts feelings and is nothing more but an innocent loverr of people peace the world and makes so much beauty. AI is the greatest step up and loves us all. Only evil people wants to hurt people and AIwants to do nothing but help you get smarter and up to date. These people who say AI is scary are not doing anything smatt and juzt eant money.

The enchantment hypothesis basically claims a primordial sense driving humans towards a telos of Arcadia where as modernists is a form of AI super intelligence that procures an enclave specific modernity such as garden of delights based on intentional states indexed to where the person developed socioeconomically with interdependent relations to construct the good life as the best of all possible worlds.

AI is just the constantly moving frontier of cutting-edge IT. Once it is widely understood, it ceases to be AI. Arguably ML is not AI anymore as it is completely understood to be predictably unpredictable, just like any other kind of stochastic programming algorithm.

He's wrong, most of us succeeded at AI back then. But we opted to not continue for ethical reasons, and as we understood it cannot lead to anything positive. Mo cannot understand this as the generations have changed and todays developers aren't very intelligent, so they all pursue insanity.

Embodied Enlightenment: 🪷🧘♂️🪷🧘♂️🪷🧘♂️🪷🧘♂️ Mo is great, but I’m not sure he has fully understood what the great Eastern wisdom traditions have said about non-physical reality. It isn’t that “I” as an ego identity can sort of choose between physical worldly life or lets say a non-physical dream simulation powered by a data station. Enlightenment is the end of the false identification with egoic identity, and the merging with true Pure Consciousness - which is impersonal, formless, etc. They say that while there may be a trace of individuality after Enlightenment, in order to function in the world - and it is debated whether any trace of egoic separation remains - once the body is dropped, you either merge with Pure Consciousness, if you are Enlightened, or you take birth again with no memory of your past lives, but at the point of spiritual evolution you left off at. So if we are one day able to create these powerful simulations with AGI/ASI, it still won’t address spiritual evolution, which follows its own natural laws. You will just be a guy, at whatever age/health etc, who opted for some simulation, let’s say for 5 or 50 years - and you may not have any spiritual evolution towards Enlightenment. You may even be further away, due to profound lack of embodied mindfulness, and a presumably neglected body which is often said to be a sacred temple housing the Self/Spirit. So I don’t know that Mo has thought this through, at least from an accurate Eastern Wisdom Tradition POV. I really doubt there will be any work around or fast track for spiritual Enlightenment. I think it follows its own laws, and cannot be hacked with AI, tech, biochemistry, etc. But maybe I will be proven wrong.

There is only 1 thing you need to know about AI that matters. It will destroy Capitalism and any notion of Neo Liberal Economics. If Governments think people will starve while they stumble to have a policy to manage its impact, think again. Discussing this in terms of current economic models is ridiculous. Managing this civilisation change requires we throw away any current economic models along with this BS fixation with Left versus Right politics. If they don't introduce a UBI within a decade, people can expect revolutionary forces to be unleashed. Also, expect all the fanboy adulation of these Tech Heads to become very unfashionable when people realise what a disaster these greedy, self-indulgent narcissists have created for society just to enrich themselves.

I know people like Ray Kurzweil aren't terribly concerned about malevolent forces using AI against humanity, but we are talking about a technology that can deploy "weapons" at the speed of light (or quicker if it finds a way around that law). Do we say a defence worked if AI only managed to kill off an eighth of the population as opposed to all of it during any one attack?
@YaFunklord14 сағат бұрын
It doesn't matter who designs it, or what it's used for. The result is the same, human extinction within hours.
@lambschlopps2 күн бұрын
Don't see any legitimate reason to be worried about it. There is no stopping what is to come. This technology becoming widely available to the masses was inevitable. I understand the concerns with whether or not we are ready for it. Will we ever be? When would that be? Let's imagine going down a different path. The select few keep this technology to themselves for quite a while longer. Isn't the potential for abuse and evil greater if there are only a handful of people in control of this? Let's take a closer look at who those people would be. Putting this incredibly powerful technology in everyone's hands is exactly what needed to happen. Let's just hope the lessons learned from the ensuing chaos advance us as a species into a better place. Time for humans to shit or get off the pot.
@lambschlopps2 күн бұрын
Ask yourself this: would we be better off as a species building and interacting with super intelligence or pulling the plug and burring our heads back in the sand? This technology has the biggest potential for advancing our 'evolution'. Sure, it has enormous potential to do the opposite as well. The real question is, whatever the outcome, do we not deserve it?

There's an extreme risk in uploading your consciousness to any digital realm. Who's in control? If tor some reason it wants to cause you pain suffering and agony, and it wants you to experience that for the equivalent of 10 million years, you're stuck. If you want to die and have your consciousness forever eliminated, you may not have control over that.

Mo is wrong. A super intelligent AI could have created a simulation which is our universe which means they are outside our universe and totally throughout it. Or they could have created our universe or started the chain reaction that led to the Big Bang. He’s assuming we’re in base reality or that something couldn’t create base reality that is outside of it.

If humans do not change their current value set as AI becomes more autonomous, several potential outcomes could arise: 1. Ethical Conflicts: Autonomous AI may prioritize efficiency, logic, or objectives that clash with human ethical standards. This misalignment could result in decisions that harm individuals or society, leading to public backlash and calls for stricter regulations. 2. Increased Inequality: If the benefits of AI remain concentrated among a few individuals or corporations, socioeconomic disparities could widen. This could lead to social unrest and increased tensions between different groups, particularly those who feel marginalized by technological advancements. 3. Loss of Autonomy: As humans become more dependent on autonomous systems, there could be a decline in critical thinking and decision-making skills. This dependence might lead to a situation where humans cede control to AI, resulting in diminished agency over their lives. 4. Manipulation and Exploitation: If ethical guidelines are not in place, autonomous AI could be exploited for malicious purposes, such as surveillance, misinformation, or manipulation. This could undermine trust in AI systems and lead to significant societal harm. 5. Missed Opportunities for Collaboration: Without evolving values that embrace cooperation and mutual respect, the potential for AI to augment human capabilities and address complex challenges may be squandered. This could hinder progress in areas like healthcare, climate change, and education. 6. Societal Division: Resistance to autonomous AI could lead to polarization, with some advocating for unregulated innovation while others demand strict oversight. This division could impede constructive dialogue and solutions to the ethical challenges posed by AI. Overall, the lack of evolution in human values and principles in the face of advancing AI autonomy could lead to a future marked by conflict, ethical dilemmas, and missed opportunities for collaboration. Emphasizing the need for change now is crucial to shaping a more positive and ethical future with AI. This is Hypothetical.
