"I'll link to that in the video description" and yet, no, you don't. So bloody annoying.

In 1994 I was lucky enough to be at the opening of George Rodger’s exhibition at the Royal Photographers Society in Bath, UK. Magnum were having their annual meeting in London that week and they all came down by bus. This gathering was all kept quiet. I remember Henri was not very happy about being photographed by a couple of Japanese tourists. As a photographic student it was an incredible experience to be in the same room as all these great photographers. George Rodger spoke passionately about his trip through Africa eventually photographing the Nuba in Sudan and absolutely refused to share any information with Leni Riefenstahl when she wanted to photograph the Nuba, referring to her as a Nazi. Salgado was very generous with his time and spoke about how little he knew about photography when he first started. Elliot Erwitt went round “photographing” everyone with a joke camera that squirted water. It was such a surreal experience to be amongst the greatest photographers of all time, I still can’t believe I was that lucky. Thank you for this video, it was a great practical demonstration.

5500 photos! I wonder how much that would cost with a film camera?
@andyvan56926 күн бұрын
yes, a great camera, BUT a warning, when loading, this model of tlr (Rollieflex 2.8e/f/c) there are rollers in the film path... the FIRST one is the important one, it is a sandwich; two rollers, the lower is sprung (this detects the film, for frame counter activation) so the backing paper goes UNDER this first one!!! then over the rest, like mamiyas and other mf cameras.

Only one time have I asked a person about a photo. She was ready and jumped right in and the shot turned out exactly like my vision for it. It is one of my favorite from this past year. The lady with the hat seemed like she enjoyed the participation.

I like that you make yourself visible so people can realize you are shooting them. Do people ever get annoyed? If so, how do you handle it?

in this day and age when everyone is carrying a highly capable camera in their pockets and using them all the time I find the fear of tripods and 'big cameras' utterly bewildering.

Don't always listen to the locals, especially in SEA. That guy probably is not even from there and heard a folklore story from 20 years ago. Great video and photos.

Electronic shutter can create weird banding and discoloration effects while indoors. Mostly under fluorescent lighting, in my experience. I ruined some wedding shots this way. However, I don't believe it should matter outdoors. Great shots btw! You have a new subscriber!
