Agree with your philosophy about renewing old watches, is better to leave a bit of age on the piece.

You did a great job and emphasised the point of "do not assume all monocoque cased watches use a split stem." I think all Tissot Seven watches were front loaders which explains why many of them haven't been serviced because of the wording on the case, Use key 315 which is a tool to grip the crystal. I've seen a few of these watches with deep gouges on the back of the case where someone has attempted to lever off the non removable back. Many thanks for a superb presentation.

It's always interesting to see what one maker does differently from the next. Some balance wheels are full of balancing screws and some have none, like this Cartier. Why is that?

About the heat, I Spent some months at Beja The thermometer uses to reach 40 celsius and above. one man told me a joke, that two father's in law (tradition in that region) were driving a car and while speaking they leave the road they crash and die. they were in hell;. One asks to the other dont you fill its hot, the other answers : imagine the heat that must be in Beja!

1000 percent timely video! My uncle recently sent me his old non-runner pocket watch that survived at least one war. First ever PW attempt and it actually resulted in some new tool purchases. Last year's tool purchases were made while my wife was buying her Swifty tickets, this year's while her and my girls were at the concert. 😂

I saw some of these been converted to “marriage” watches, while it lost its originality, it unleashed new lives into them

the real star of the show is the magnificent Elmasolvex RM cleaning machine. It is there in each episode waiting to save the day.

In the end of 1940 the battle of France ended with the retreat of the British Army from Dunkirk and Nazi Germany was victorious. I wonder who gave this watch as gift to whom in such solemn year..
