I'm goint to be be honest, I kove Bumi and all, but I hate that he's a part of the White Lotus. Everyone else makes sense since they follow the wise old mentor trope. But Bumi is a crazy old king and has never displayed any philosophy about the nations being one like everyone else.

I like Aang's inner turmoil, but I have one giant problem with it. It's never present before. Never mentioned during the planning of the invasion, the hiding before the invasion, during the invasion or hiding after the invasion. We get one tiny foreshadow of it at the end of the southern raiders, and that's it.

It's really sweet how you can hear a faint version of the "Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall" love song Iroh and the crew are performing earlier in the episode in the background when Sokka starts talking to Suki right before he falls into the water.

blue fire does actually produce less light, since most of the light from fire comes from the incandescents in the unburnt particles in a cold fire.

the word you're looking for: "contrived". When two big things happen coincidently... it feels manipulated by an author instead of naturally occurring because of the consequences of worldbuilding

Okay I'm super late but who cares. I just noticed that, at minute 2:09, the map in Fong's room on the right looks like the map that Bato got from the messenger in episode 15! I think Hakoda was probably working with Fong or someone from the earthkingodm army together at that location.

it really crazy how much influence these big studios (Netflix, Disney, etc.) have over youtube and other forms of media and the lengths they will go to silence or punish users criticizing their work. same thing is happening with Star Wars shi is really sad

I might be late and this may be a bit of a stretch but here it is anyways: When Azula asks Zuko if he thinks that Aang could somehow be alive, they showed his unscarred side, his "good" side, when he lied and said he didn't think Aang could be alive. Thought that was worth mentioning :)

Whoop whoop, starting my fifth full watch through of all of Overanalysing Avatar! Though I reckon I’ve watched most of them several times more than that over the years. I just love hearing people talk about their passions, especially when they are as well put together as this series!

There's a theory based on what we see in LOK (allegedly, I didnt watch the show myself) that suggests that Gyatso was still somewhat pacifistic but ended up in that position because he bended all the oxygen out of the immediate space. Thats why theres no signs of a struggle. Gyatso's clothes are torn, but not burned. It may suggest either that they all suffocated together in that position, or that the firebenders could no longer bend (fire needs oxygen) but still chose to attack him and suffocated.

I think I have a better way to bring in Energybending. Have Aang have that spiritual trance, but have it bring him to a long-hidden air nomad refuge, one of many hidden amongst the world. But while most have been raided, this one is especially well hidden, and though much of it is worn down or deteriorated, the contents are pristine. Have him find a scroll, have him open it up and learn of the Air Nomad power of energybending. It makes perfect sense for it to be an Air Nomad philosophy, too. It's non-confrontational and it allows them to avoid problems rather than engaging with them. More than that, it ties into his past, his heritage which he is desperate to keep, and it's one more lesson that he never got to learn. But the kicker? Have the author of the technique, at least the one that wrote it down, be *Monk Gyatso*. The thing that ends the series is his Master and surrogate father figure's last lesson to him. Gyatso, his air nomad heritage helped him defeat the fire lord without taking his life. It makes more sense than a random, fuck-off huge animal coming in to spout some faux-wise shit and give him a new power, and it allows Aang to learn from the Air Nomads one last time before he leaves, and have a cache of scrolls for him to teach any future pupils of his arts.

Just go back to doing Korra you haven’t had any problems uploading that so is it just because you don’t enjoy the show. This is a personal take but I did enjoy Korra a lot more than the live action and don’t think it’s worth your time to play with the copyright system. Love your videos do whatever you think would be best. Smooch*

I mean, you can just put them here and not get paid, but I guess you're in it for money alone. Just post the vids, people will still support your patreon anyway. Just because you won't get paid for them here doesn't mean people who are already subsvribed to your patreon will unsub. You say you really wish you could post them, but yoy literally can, you just prioritize money above posting them

You know what I love? Zuko's slow and careful wording when he mentions that the earth kingdom people can endure anything as long as they have hope makes me think that he's thinking back to Uncle Iroh's explanation of the 4 nations and what makes them special. Which also means that when in doubt, he thinks back to Uncle Iroh. And I think that that's really sweet, but also very sad, because in the moment of the most lost that he's ever felt, he thinks back to his uncle.
