Snip about 1/2" off the end of the outlet hose. It won't be stretched out, like the end is, because of being on the pump for awhile.

@ another great video but I meant the 3” 90 vent pipe plumbed into the flex pipe they provided then up to another 90 degree pipe going into the camper…does it stay pretty secure on the air chamber? It seems to be a weird size…also, from what I understand from watching a different video, there is a thermostat built into the controller??? I have ordered an extension cable from Amazon where I can bring the controller inside to control temperature…the fan never stops but it will stop pumping fuel into chamber.

Hi Keith, Fantastic video! This is exactly what I was hoping to do, but I couldn't quite figure out the installation. I bought the new HCALORY 12V Portable Diesel Heater, but I'm having trouble finding the right stove pipes at Lowe's. The diameter seems to be between 3" and 4". Do you have any suggestions for alternatives? Also, is that Ceramic Fiber Insulation Board you're using in the basement? I found some on Amazon, but it's a bit expensive. The specs say it can withstand up to 2300F, so I think it would work well for this application. Thanks for all the helpful information in your video! Regards,
@geenoteАй бұрын
I used 3" pipe I found at Lowes. I think it is used for things like an exhaust fan in a bathroom or over a kitchen oven. The high temp fiber material is something I had left over at work that is used in high temp chambers. I wish it was more rigid but has worked good so far. I just have to be careful not to step on it or handle it too rough. There are exhaust ports available that maybe can be mounted in a metal or wood panel that might work better. Thank you!

That is true. I keep the can of diesel fuel in the garage and very careful when filling the tank on the heater.

I just watched a vid where the guy had a hole up underneath his rv that he runs the heat duct thru. Then the heater stays under the RV and it’s protected plus the hole coming up from the floor seems Very practical

I have the same Heater and same setup in my rv it’s the best thing ever using hardly any fuel and a battery last forever. It doesn’t matter if it’s outside or the intake is inside air those heaters are the hottest heat! All the comments about not being efficient I can tell they never used one of these! There awesome
@geenote2 ай бұрын
I agree. The duct work isn't insulated and the heat is still so hot that you can't hold your hand in front of the vent very long.

Does this type of controller have an automatic mode where it adjusts to the desired temperature using a thermostat?
@geenote2 ай бұрын
There is an "automatic' mode but it only slows to min speed/heat when set point is reached. It will increase speed/heat as needed but it never shuts off.

try to decouple the pump from that rubber-like mounting bracket. The vibration is transferring thought the rubber to thin metal that works like a drum. Use some foamy material instead of the rubber.

My ac kicks out the Honda immediately
@geenote6 ай бұрын
I think most AC units this size will overload the Honda. I make sure all electrical items are off and generator is running with "eco" mode off when first turning the AC on. After the AC starts, I can turn the Honda "eco" mode on. I also crank the thermostat on the AC all the way up so the compressor doesn't cycle on/off while in "eco" mode.
