15:10 if you use defense curl once in the battle, it doubles rollout's power, which jiggly learns. Also at 17:36 specs doesn't exist until gen 4, so all good! Fun video as always!

My vote is definitely Steven for the next video. Lots of tough Pokemon especially with the notoriously defensive monster Skarmory for the lead and the titan that is Metagross, but I think it’ll still feel doable for some Pokémon since there’s a lot more overlapping types than there are on Blue’s team. Steven just has a more balanced team to test the BQ quotient on than with Blue imo. Either way I can’t wait to see the next one as always!

17:30 You "forgot" because Choice Specs doesn't exist yet, it was introduced in Diamond and Pearl. Only Choice Band exists in Gen 3.

I'm at the start of the video right now, but I want to try suggesting the same thing I suggested on T&L's video, hoping you see my comment. :) So if a Pokemon still can't clear round 2, I suggest a third round for level 100s where the points are worth less. Either ace's level /200 or a flat 0.25 (Level 46 ace would be 46/200 so 0.23 points, while a level 26 ace would be 26/200 so 0.13 points) 😊

It took me like 20 years to realise Wobbuffet would be awkward to use in early gens because of the physical & special split… now some of my “punch” attacked being Mirror Coated makes sense…

How about “single mon run” as a level cap? I mean, as if each mon were the starter, just sum the xp gain till the gym point in the game to calc the level for each mon (no wild training, obviously). Reasonable, right? honestly, after seeing all videos released so far (big thanks btw, huge fan here), I still dont feel balance on the level cap rules, there are too many wins. The gym leaders are not that bad, even using strong/cheesy strats as return-swagger and gambled tms on them.

1. That seems way harder to do, and honestly might end up giving some pokemon an even higher level cap. I don't think there's ever going to be a perfect level cap system for this series, and I think this one is good enough and simple enough to calculate 2. You gotta remember this after 20 attempts of retesting strategy or fishing for luck and these pokemon have perfect IVs and edited EVs to be exactly what he needs, with maxed out resources you normally wouldn't put on a single pokemon in a casual run. At a certain point you have to accept that gym leaders are boss fights in a game made for children and aren't really that difficult if you have any sense of strategy because they're mainly there to test a kids knowledge of the type matchups and maybe some basic mechanics like weather.

Welcome back! Please take your time, dude.. On the ruleset, might be early to say but I fear most gym leaders will have very similar results with that level cap multiplier. Maybe 0.1 per extra mon is too much. How about 0.05?

Suggestion for Jigglypuff or the future. The move Defense Curl causes Rollout (and ice ball) to deal double damage. Might be useful in future tests with Pokemon that can learn it?

Lol, I should have clarified but the speed was important in getting the swagger hit to avoid just dying immediately. I believe the sequence was Swagger>Self-hit>Truant Turn>Vital Throw, which iirc was only possible with max speed to make sure I hit Swagger before it could kill me with Facade.
