Reims is a lovely place to visit and it has some very, very good restaurants - the one hour wait is inexcusable but there was obviously a big problem in the Nonna kitchen that evening ? Your wife's dish looks completely different to the one on their Instagram page !!

What is the issue here, I don't understand the comments here. This seems to be a small restaurant and she is obviously the only waitress taking care of all the customers sitting outside. I'm not French but most Western Europeans don't work for tips, that's why they won't kiss your behind for a few bucks. It's a nice place, a nice evening, take it easy and enjoy being alive ... most people on this planet don't even have clean water to drink and you all act like she was spitting in their faces.

The average American in this situation would be the whine-king, Wineking once again proves his noble monarchic character

Wow this channel is a trip. The gimmick is that she is extremely critical which allows him to be extremely "graceful?" Very interesting. Seems I watched a different video than everyone here, I thought these folks were insufferable.

Best restaurant we ever ate at in Reims was Au Petit Comptoir, definitely worth spending a bit more

It is really hard to find good italian food in France, like it is really difficult to find good french food in Italy. With italian food is even more difficult because of the regional differences. Cacio e Pepe is best in Lazio, tajarin al tartufo in Piedmont (Langhe)

Your title stating that you just found the first good waiter in France is quite a negative generalization, and quite anti French. The next time you come into a restaurant in France ,you first say bonsoir or bonjour ,then you ask the waiter if he would help you with your selections and ,thank him for his help. That is what they expect ,as a minimum of politeness .Reverse the situation ,and ask your self if you would find a Frenchmen saying the same thing after visiting Korea .

but korea has good waiters, so it would not be a surprise like it is in france

Politeness and civilty is an admirable trait and East Asians (Koreans and Japanese ) can often be stereotyped as such, particularly when overseas. As a Korean in his 60s I hate being stereotyped especially when Im overseas. I wouldn't tolerate such service. I absolutely would've given him a piece of my mind or at least he certainly would've felt my displeasure.

Over and hour for pasta - they either ran out of pasta mid service (unlikely given that they weren't that busy) or more likely the kitchen completely forgot to fire the order/ assumed the order had already been sent

I enjoyed this video thoroughly. I tripped into this video and watched it with a smile on my face. The homely and knowing vibe from yourself and your wife, and your growing admiration of the waiter's performance, was wonderful to see. Thank you.

Cacio e pepe는.... 1.
