Sorry for this late question, but is there a LED mask that is just NIR INFRARED lights and pulse? As someone with colored skin I know red light often worsens the hyperpigmentation. None the mask on market give the option of just NIR INFRARED.

Can we be sure at this point the results are true tightening or resurfacing of acne scars as opposed to edema as we see with micro needling? I had micro penning with TCA done every 6 weeks for about a year and a half a few years ago and my skin was incredible. Smooth, plump, glowing. Unfortunately when I stopped, it all basically reverted and I realized it was just a consistent slight edema from the procedure making me look better

Please read the recent "100mw/cm^2 - the best intensity for full body red light therapy?" article..many manufacturers are inflating their power output readings to get sales. (Using solar power meters - as were used in the early days of LEDs - versus spectrometers). 200mw/cm2 at 3 inches would burn your skin if it was a spectrometer reading! (I can see it via one of the urls).
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE22 сағат бұрын
@@louise_8546 I don’t recommend any LED that is 200 mw/cm2 I actually talk about 30-50 being typical for masks and the Jovs mask that SAYS it’s 140 (whether or not it is I can’t say) is unnecessary at best. Did you watch the video?
@louise_854622 сағат бұрын
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Yes, I watched the video and looked at the items in the Maysama store - one panel has the quoted irradiance. There's a difference between power output ratings (artificially high to try and boost sales) via solar power meter vs spectrometer. I doubt very much it is 200mw/cm2 as it would be hazardous! Joov and Mito, amongst others, do this marketing trick too (with asterisks on their specs).
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE22 сағат бұрын
@ ok I understand. I didn’t realize she says 200 mw/cm2 I’ll have to ask about that!!
@louise_854622 сағат бұрын
@ It's on the Pulse40 LED Panel webpage (Maysama website).
@louise_854622 сағат бұрын
One of the lights on the store says 'Irradiance 200mw/cm2 at 3 inches.' !!! which would burn your skin if this is was a spectrometer reading. I'm guessing this was via solar power meter - the readings are very different and in the old days of LEDs solar meters were used (to give such inflated readings). Which is why there is so much confusion about power output specs now. There's an excellent blog article '100mw/cm^2 - the best intensity for full body red light therapy?' about this which is quite recent. Please read up to date articles about this and don't get misled with inflated numbers (lots of manufacturers are doing this).
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE22 сағат бұрын
I definitely read up to date articles on LED.
@louise_854622 сағат бұрын
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I'm asking specifically about that quoted irradiance - 200mw/cm2? I didn't suggest anything about the uploader, so that's a strange reply. I was requesting this to people watching this video, so they are aware.

Unless I’m mistaken, I think you’ve said elsewhere that cosmetic micro needling could be done weekly… Yet here you are describing a cycle of 28 days for adding back serums and other products. From another video, I also learned an approach that included applying copper peptides and growth factors immediately after a cosmetic micro needling session. I noticed this video is five years old… Has your advice given here been superseded by new information given in later videos?
@PENNSMITHSKINCAREКүн бұрын
@@maryf6284 this is a month of serums for post needling for collagen- medical needling. This also includes when I would needle cosmetically. Nothing has changed (products come and go but the rules I follow are the same). Medical needling (for collagen) is once a month (or further apart) and this video goes over the serums. I still use the book “Dermal Needling” by Dr Lance Setterfield as my guide (it’s what I was taught in my advanced training as well). Hope that helps. Remember, some terms are interchangeable: Medical needling = needling for collagen. CIT = medical needling or needling for collagen Cosmetic needling = shallow needling ♥️

Hi Penny, Do you still recommend high-frequency wands? Do you find they help with anti aging? If so, how do they help with anti aging long term? If not, what are the risks that warrant avoiding high frequency? Asking, bc i have the NuDerma wand (neon "anti-aging" version), and i want to use it more consistently (for jaw sagging and "turkey neck" concerns, specifically) but I've heard recently about devices "melting face fat." I watched this video a couple years ago, and, as a some time has passed since then, i wondered if there was new information about long term high frequency benefits. I seem to only be able to find articles and videos on "how to use high frequency," or "before and after" videos featuring acne benefits. But I can't find any information, it seems, regarding long-term analysis of anti aging with this modality. Any insight is appreciated! Thank you.
