Is this just a free way to not have to spend money on a tek pack?
@WithloveChristina21 сағат бұрын
Hello! Sure! However, this method is actually an easy (or free as you said) way to create a flat sketch, not a tech pack. A flat sketch is a two-dimensional representation of a garment, illustrating its shape, construction, and design elements without any perspective or depth. Whereas a tech pack, on the other hand, is a multi-page comprehensive document that includes detailed specifications, measurements, fabric and trim information, stitching guidelines, and production instructions. A flat sketch is only a small part of a tech pack. Hope that helps!

Hlw di... I have done diploma in fashion designing. Can i get job directly or i have to do intership for jobs. If i have to do intership in which field should i go? I'm so confused and unable to find intership nd job please help me.
@WithloveChristinaКүн бұрын
Hello! I’m going to say that Internships can be valuable for gaining hands-on experience and industry exposure, but they are really not a prerequisite for securing a job. If I were in your position, I would focus on curating a strong, well-structured CV and portfolio that effectively showcases my acumen and expertise. Once that is done, I recommend applying for job positions directly, as many employers prioritize demonstrable talent and initiative over internship experience. Best of luck in your job search! I hope this helps.

Should i do diploma or shor tem certificate course for fashion illustration or photography? Because i love both to do
@WithloveChristina6 күн бұрын
Hi! That depends on the career path you wish to pursue. If your goal is to work as a freelance Fashion Illustrator or Photographer, doing a course is not necessary at all. Today, there is a vast array of high-quality resources available online for free. You can develop your skills and put together a portfolio through self-directed learning. On a side note, I’m not sure there is a any career as a Fashion Illustrator (as this falls under fashion design) but you can definitely have one as a Photographer. Hoping that helps!

@WithloveChristina6 күн бұрын
Hello! So sorry I’m actually the wrong person to ask, I tried freelance for a very short time and it did not work out for me. I’ve only always worked as a fashion designer for corporate companies (8+ years worth of work ex) so I don’t know much about doing freelance. My apologies!

After making the whole pattern, when i try placing it on the dress, the pattern comes out big and im unable to get the desired effect as yours because the patterns become big hence not so much patterns are visible, what do i do please ?
@WithloveChristina10 күн бұрын
Hello! I see! Is it a shape with the pattern that you are unable to reduce in size? If yes, then what you can do is right click on the shape > transform > scale. Next, make sure that 'transform objects' and 'transform patterns' are both tick marked. Next, hit 'OK'. You should be able to reduce the size of the shape now. Let me know if that helps?

i learn alot of things from you i'm doing my first portfolio thanks to you 💜 . You are my hero 💜 I want to ask a question can i use a templet of body from internet without drawing it just draw the clothes on it ? Or should i draw it on my own ?
@WithloveChristina10 күн бұрын
Aw that’s so sweet! Thank you so much! Regarding your query, are you referring to using a ready croquis? One that you can download from the internet, input into Adobe illustrator and draw clothes over? If yes, it would unfortunately be a copyright issue if you use one that somebody else created, unless of course, if you buy it/pay for it and legally own the rights to use it. That is why, as designers, we just create our own croquis. Hope that answers your question!

its great tracing but there is an issue its complicated not easy as it appear thats why i prefer CLO3D working.

Hi! Great! CLO3d is lovely as well, however for flat sketches, the standard software used in the fashion industry is Adobe illustrator. Hope that helps!

This is the best tutorial in this segment so far. Thanks a lot. Can you also guide how to export the design to share it for printing / Stitching. What settings need to be taken care of what is the format that we need to export these designs for final printing. Thanks in advance.
@WithloveChristina10 күн бұрын
Hi Vijay, thank you for your kind words! I’m glad to hear that! Regarding exporting, the method depends on its intended application. Flat sketches like this one are predominantly utilized in tech packs. Once integrated into a tech pack, you can export the pages as high-resolution JPEG files for printing. However, most designers collaborate digitally with manufacturers, so it is more conventional to export the entire tech pack as a PDF and transmit it directly. Hope this helps!
