Hey Anu! Yes, Illustrator is not free. Sorry about that and totally understandable! Unfortunately I teach Adobe Illustrator as it's the standard fashion industry software that you need to know if you want to be a designer. Flat sketches especially are done only on Adobe Illustrator. Hope that explains why you don't see any other softwares being taught - it will be a waste to pick up something that the industry does not need.

I’m having troubles with how you drew the back neck band. I’m trying to but it isn’t letting me send to back. Did you start a new layer? Did you lock all of the neck seams and hem? Because I will click the points on the front neck line like you did but that changes the lines into a different shape. HELP!? 🥴😖

@ShantysLovecast Hi! I gotchu! So just make sure that no other shape is highlighted when you start drawing the back neck piece, exactly as seen in the tutorial. If the front neck shape is still highlighted, and if you start drawing the back neck shape at that time, that’s when it changes the front neck into a different shape because Illustrator will assume that you’re trying to edit the highlighted front neck shape and that’s why the line changes into a different shape. You can deselect everything on the artboard by simply clicking anywhere in the background with your selection tool or you can use the shortcuts Shift+Ctrl+A. Let me know if that works!
