This video has been incredibly helpful in helping me decide NOT to take this project on. This was incredibly satisfying and you are a master of your trade, but I am going to enjoy this from a distance only for a while!

HI Mr Mark! Just Found your Chanel, and I Love it! Liked and Subd. The BEST THING about you and your channel is that you are not like other Aviators because you are interested in MORE then just aviation. I mean, how many other pilots can make a Chair out of a Barrel , catch Bob Cats, run a Hotel, and all the REst of it ??! Brilliant!

How does one sideslip with interconnected controls ?
@skywagonuniversity50239 күн бұрын
They still slip. The controls are interconnected with springs so you can cross control and you can still slip if you want.

I took many rides in a Champ as a teenager. My dad was the president of our local RC club, they operated out of a small (2200’ runway). The Champ owner leased the airport from the township for $1/yr. He was great to give us rides. His didn’t have electric.

With the AD that installs the 'strips' on the wing leading edge - it stalls/spins much like a C-152. The cabin is spacious. I have long legs and it's the only small 'trainer' plane where I can move my seat forward a notch! Love it.

You mention Robertson in your discussion. He was involved early on with Wren. My brother worked for Wren in the 60's and our family was around when 00W was the prototype. Got to ride in it at the Reading airshow around '63 or so. The whole beauty of it was that it did lift off relatively level and not hang on the prop like a Helio or others. Great Video. Thanks for posting it...

Great video as always. One data point: I have a 1980 PA-28-181, which should be essentially identical to the 1984 Archer, and I get more like 125 kts TAS in cruise, not 110. I've been very happy with my Archer - as you say, it doesn't get much simpler, and is faster than I expected. Also, one question: you mentioned your M20E is High Performance. I thought that was only for greater than 200HP, and that 200HP IO-360 planes (like an Arrow I once flew) were not High Performance wrt endorsements (though they are "higher performance"). Thanks.

I love my 182, but honestly I don't think you can go wrong with anything Cessna (152, 172, 182, 206). Just plan your typical mission in terms of useful load, # passengers, and to some extent, speed.
