The apk uses a different method for data transfer now, and has you patch it to fix some text issues. I doubt you'd want to make a new video, but this method doesn't work anymore.

Was there any windows updates since then? I tried it on my mini pc, ally x and legion go and they all seem much more responsive now. Try a few other games maybe and see how that goes 🤔

Make sure you installed the rubber membrane correctly and cleaned it.

Not sure how but the colors on my Retroid Pocket 5 are noticeably better than the Odin 2 Portal.

This can apply to even AMD mini PCs my Timespy score reduced by about 300pts on both iGPU and 500pts on my eGPU G1 . Also using it's memory optimizer from AMD overwrote my iGPU memory allocation I set in the bios.

@@KeiRetroGaming no that happened after the Windows auto updated the eGPU drivers I was wondering if it was the AMD drivers so I will be following your great video to fix my mini pc and remove what Windows did even after applying the latest AMD drivers from the Adranaline software my score stayed lower. I used to see Windows doing this to iGPU Intel but never thought it could happen with AMD. I will certainly block windows updating my drivers.

One thing I noticed is in the c drive I didn't have that folder on top of that i think you should reinstall the AMD software then do the drivers. That's what I'll be doing now because it's still ignoring my bios allocation I set for the integrated graphics after I previously used memory optimisation that amd provides in the software. Steel nomad score went up from 1971 every time it was that to almost 2000 I was wondering why my score went down since 😅October 😅

Hi : ) I'm thinking about replacing the d-pad with a black one from the retroid pocket 5, they look to be identical, maybe you know if they are compatible for sure? Also, in your video you said that you don't recommend removing the d-pad membrane, could you clarify why exactly and will it make replacing the d-pad problematic in any way?

I'm pretty positive they're the same dpad so it might be doable. The dpad is effectively glued to the membrane. If you pull it off, the dpad will feel very loose and wobbly.

The colour buttons were neat. I like the black ones personally but I'm always hoping companies expand their colour options. Fun to have the options available, especially if people want to customize it more to their liking.

Great review. Definitely some new information in there. I think you are the first reviewer to point out the OLED is even better than the RP5. Also though, I would not call a $110 difference substantially cheaper. Sure it is 50% higher than the RP5, which is probably the best value in handhelds right now, but I have the RP5 and can’t live with the poor ergonomics and much smaller screen. Can barely go out to eat for 2 people and keep the bill under $110 anymore and you are getting a LOT more for your money with 2x the performance difference and about 10x the audio difference Plus all the ergonomic improvements.

Love that odin 2 portal, but for me, it's too bulky, not portable at all. The firts odin 2 model has the perfect size... Only if it has that 120hz oled screen...in a 6 inch screen...

it's a really nice device, but not sure worth upgrading from my Odin2 Pro. The issue these days is Android, Ayn need to do a Linux supported device.

I love the retroid pocket 5 and was surprised at how much it can play. The portal is about as big as I would go because I've just found I don't reach for bigger devices like the steam deck. I'll probably hold off for now and possibly get it on a sale down the road if possible but may just stick with the retroid honestly.

All glass bending front is a deal breaker for me. No tempered glass screen protector can be applied unless you just get a square one which would look terrible. Next.

When you have a chance can you compare the volume curve between the odin 2 and the odin 2 portal? That's been my biggest pet peeve with the odin 2, you volume up a few times and it goes from very quiet, to way too loud.

Thanks for mentioning DRM. That may do it for me. Love my rp5 but its in a weird spot where its not small enough to be an EDC, like my Pocket Micro. This will be a great media and gaming device.
